Painkiller Makes All Of Our Deaths An Endless Cycle

Painkiller — Rogue Angel

Painkiller is taking us further into Purgatory, with a new roguelike mode designed for Painkiller

The realm of Purgatory is getting a little larger in Painkiller when it launches. Either larger, or we are falling under the illusion of it all, with a new roguelike gameplay mode that Anshar Studios and 3D Realms will be packing into the game at launch. A mode that I am sure will have a whole lot of gamers spending more time within Painkiller than we might have expected when October 21st hits us all. That is when the game is launching out there still, so it makes sense. Just in case you missed the release date for it all on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and truly don’t want to miss out on this Rogue Angel that we are going to have to deal with as well.

Before anyone out there gets worried that Painkiller is not going to be just the straight shooter we saw before, this new mode is in addition to the main one we will have in the game. Just to build off it all and allow all three players in the game to run through Purgatory in a non-stop, fast-paced arena where we will keep on collecting weapons and tarot cards along the way. All so we can see how well we can survive and bring down the various bosses that will be roaming out there in Painkiller. A solid choice to go with, since there are many out there who do not like this style of play, in general, but the developers want to make sure there is plenty to keep on coming back for. I’m all for it, and you can see more of all of this in the following video we have to show off the new mode. Then, in just under a month, we can all head out there and see if it was the best choice to add to the mix of things here.

Were you one of the gamers out there hoping to get a roguelike mode in Painkiller? Do you think it will flow well with three different players at the same time? Will we have to beat the core game to head out into this mode from the start? Why did they go with Purgatory and not a different form of Hell to explain the death loops? Make your way down to the comment section to discuss any and all of that. We know we have more to share for Painkiller out there, so please keep on checking the site and our social accounts to stay as up-to-date on all of that as it flows out of the pits. It was a fun game when we had a chance to play the demos, so we can only assume it has been getting better since then.
