A new demo for Jester: A Foolish Ritual is out there now, for those who want to see if they could outrun this terrible Jester
The joke will soon be on all of us, as we can now head out into the demo for Jester: A Foolish Ritual. This is a new co-op survival horror title that Fire Foot Studios is putting together for us all on the PC, and now is the time to see how things are panning out. Sure, we could just look at the videos we have for the gameplay and various other bits, but wouldn’t it be more fun to grab 3 friends and just experience it? Sure, it would, and as of right now, you can. At least for part of Jester: A Foolish Ritual, as this is just a demo and some of the bigger aspects of the game will be held back until the final launch down the line. As long as this all goes well, I don’t see that being a long line to wait on either.
In the game here, we are all being tasked with searching a cursed castle to see if we can stop this terrible Jester from doing all of the terrible things it is known to do. To do this, we are going to have to find the various ritual items and perform said ritual. An easy task, I’m sure it isn’t. Those brave enough to give the demo a try will have access to part of the castle to give it a go. Thankfully, only the noise detection and a limited AI will be implemented in this form of Jester: A Foolish Ritual, so that should be good enough to give us all a feel for the game’s final version. One that will have the full castle, better AI, and various other upgrades we should expect in a fully built video game. Have a look and see if this is going to be something you add to the Halloween fun, or if you will hold off until after the final version of the game is fully out there.
Jester: A Foolish Ritual — Demo
Jester: A Foolish Ritual is an upcoming co-op survival horror game. In the demo, you and up to 3 friends can explore the cursed castle and get a taste of the gameplay, atmosphere, and terror that awaits in the full release.
What’s included in the demo:
- 1 playable separate area of the cursed castle
- Basic version of the Jester with limited AI behaviour
- Up to 4-player online co-op
- Proximity voice chat support
- Sound detection from the Jester
- A selection of items and mechanics from the full game (basic rune collection and ritual preparation)
This demo is designed to give you a short but intense preview of the core gameplay loop. Some features and content are not yet included and will be available in the full game.
NOT included in the demo:
- Full castle map and all areas
- Advanced AI behaviour and full Jester mechanics
- Multiple difficulty modes
- Full variety of items and environmental hazards
- Map events
