Head A Little Behind The Scenes After Gamescom For Directive 8020

Directive 8020 — Gamescom 2025 Recap

Take a walk around the setting of Directive 8020 as it was all shown off during Gamescom, and see why we need to wait longer for Directive 8020

Even though Gamescom has come and gone for this year, we are still getting some new looks at things that went down during the event. Specifically, some look at things that we would only have had a chance to experience if we were on-site, with the latest for Directive 8020. We do need something to help take away the sting that Supermassive Games had to push the release out to 2026. Not only that, but also a solid look at some of the other bits that were behind the scenes for Directive 8020, and what they tried to dazzle the crowds with out there. Let’s all get ready to take a weird tour behind the booth and see a few of the other aspects of the game that we will, hopefully, get to experience soon on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

While there was a lot of gameplay shown off for Directive 8020, which you can see in some of our past articles, it does look as if the team tried to set things up to give us all that true feeling of being on the ship. Along with a bunch of massive statues of the characters and other “immersive” bits to pull everyone further into the game. All so they could highlight more of the horror this game will have, along with talk about the way that Directive 8020 will be expanding on the branching narrative aspect that they nailed down in The Casting Of Frank Stone. Along with bits of the actual combat and other elements that make this more than just a walking simulation, with a choice kind of game. Something that the team was known for every other year, with all of the other titles in The Dark Picture Anthology that is still ongoing. This is still set in that IP, for those who might have forgotten that.
