New gameplay for 007 First Light is out there, along with a release date for when we can play 007 First Light in 2026
I was not certain we were going to get as much for 007 First Light as we have here before 2026 came about, but do we ever have a whole lot to take in for the game now. During the most recent PlayStation State Of Play, IO Interactive dropped all manner of details for the game. We have a lot of gameplay to take in for it, word that the pitch was pretty much Hitman but as James Bond, as well as a release date for the game. Yes, it is that soon, and we can look to pick up 007 First Light on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC on March 27th, 2026. That certainly is a whole lot sooner than most of us would have thought for this title. Now, let’s dig into the rest of the meat of the update that we have, which is the gameplay.
I know you did not come here just for the release date for 007 First Light, but for the full gameplay bits that we have all been waiting for. In fact, we have about 30 minutes of all of that, as we get to see the first mission of the game play out in a few ways. With and without commentary from the developers. All of the action one would expect, with all of the elements of the other title that team is known for in the forefront. In the mission, Bond will have to gain entry into a gala and find his target of 009. All of this plays almost exactly as you would expect in a Hitman game. Right down to using distractions to make guards move and open up other ways into things, as we would expect. After that, we get to see how 007 First Light will stand out from the other titles with more driving and high-action scenes. Many feel very cinematic as we see them unfold in the mission. That is the part of it all that will truly sell fans of the IP on this game. Have a watch of it all just a bit lower, and then see if you are going to want to get that Golden Gun version of the game to have in your home.
