The launch for Cronos: The New Dawn is here, and we can all dive into what horrors Cronos: The New Dawn has for us to behold
Things are starting to merge out there, even if we are not supposed to let that happen, but the launch of Cronos: The New Dawn is finally here. Well, kind of, and for those who have thrown down for the Digital Deluxe version of the game, that Bloober Team is offering out there. The rest have to wait until some time after September 5th if they want to dive into the horrors this one will be bringing us on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. Maybe even longer if you still want to get physical with Cronos: The New Dawn, but that will be the price of admission for those who want it. Even if all of these different versions will have something else to offer the universe. Just as we will be able to see in the launch trailer we have for the game now.
That might seem a little confusing, for those who have not been following along with Cronos: The New Dawn for a while now. The core version of the game will be out there on September 5th for those who do not need any extras for the game. Those looking for a physical version on the PS5 will be able to get that on September 19th, and on the Switch 2, you will have to wait until October 21st. All the other platforms, well, you will only have the digital option to go with, so then it comes down to if you want to play Cronos: The New Dawn right now with some extra skins, or wait another 48 hours to play the core game on its own. A rough choice, but here we have one last video to try and show off why we might need to give the game another try instead of heading back into Dead Space or Silent Hill for one more run through all of that. At least beyond the original story that this title will have with the familiar gameplay.
Cronos: The New Dawn — Launch Trailer
Bloober Team presents Cronos: The New Dawn — a third-person survival horror experience like no other. Set in the haunting ruins of New Dawn, a world inspired by Nowa Huta, a real historical district in Kraków, Poland, the game unfolds across two timelines: a post-apocalyptic future decaying in despair, and the gritty, industrial 1980s reality. This powerful duality blends retro realism, dystopian sci-fi, and a retro-futuristic atmosphere to create a deeply immersive world filled with tension, mystery, and terror.
Early Access Begins — Step into the Ruins
Bloober Team invites players to descend into the unforgiving world of New Dawn with the launch of early access today for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Step into the hunting suit of The Traveler — an enigmatic agent of the Collective, sent into zones scarred by the Change, a cataclysmic event that shattered time, memory, and flesh. What remains is a world suspended between past and future — haunted, hostile, and unravelling. Survival is anything but certain.
Cross-Platform Digital Launch Sept. 5 with Physical Editions Coming Soon
The game will officially launch digitally across all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2 system, on Sept. 5. The Digital Deluxe Edition, now available for preorder (Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S), provides 48-hour early access. This means that if you preorder the Deluxe Edition today, Sept. 3, you can start playing Cronos right away. It includes everything from the Digital Standard Edition, plus additional:
- Bonus Resources: handgun ammo, shotgun shells, energy packs
- Three exclusive Traveler skins
- Digital artbook and official soundtrack
Physical Editions for both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, produced in partnership with Americas physical distributor Skybound Games, are also now available for pre-order at select retailers, including GameStop and Amazon. In addition to physical copies of the standard base game, these will include a unique Traveler skin and access to a cache of valuable digital supplies, along with a set of collectible physical stickers inspired by Cronos’ haunting world. In the Americas, the PlayStation 5 Physical Edition will be available Sept. 19, and the Nintendo Switch 2 Physical Edition will be available on Oct. 21.
Did you take a break from playing Cronos: The New Dawn to read and watch all of this, or are you waiting until the final day to give it all a go? Are you going to hold out to have a physical version of the game instead, or have you made the leap over to the digital side of not owning your video games? Will there be more than just the story that will help this title stand out, or will that be the bigger push with all of the gameplay feeling so familiar to other video games out there? Take your time on down to the comment section to discuss any of this. If we get more for Cronos: The New Dawn, or have a review for the game, we will update the site with all of that.
