Star Trek fans will have a new title flying their way, with the announcement for Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown
We are all going to have a chance to head off into the final frontier with the announcement of Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown. A new title that gameXcite and Daedalic Entertainment announced out at Gamescom this year, and one that will give players on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC a bit more of a taste of what the universe has to offer up. At least in terms of the Star Trek universe, as that is a bit different than the one we currently are surviving out here. That will be part of the game, as we will be taking control of a Voyager-class ship and heading into the great unknown, while also managing so much more than we could imagine, and dabbling in some of the extra “What If” kind of things that could be possible in all of the universes out there. So, that does kind of mean this one could be part of the real world one outside of just a video game…
Just as one would assume in a game centered around Star Trek Voyager, we are going to be adventuring out into the Delta Quadrant to explore and research all of the unknown out there. Along the way, we are going to need to manage the crew and the ship with the resources we have on hand. Along with that, we are going to need to make choices along the way that will shape the course of the game and the story. Thus, it sounds like Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown will have multiple ways the events could all play out. That is where some of the rougelite elements of it all will kick in, and we will have to think hard about these choices we are making. Especially as it does seem like we will have some space combat mixed in with all of the other elements of the game, too. Here is a bit of a teaser for the game. Even if the basics are all we have at this point, it’s all. It does look as if it will be another fun addition to the IP and give all of the fans one more experience that they are certainly craving out there.
Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown — Announcement
Daedalic Entertainment and gameXcite are proud to announce Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown, a brand-new story-based survival strategy game set in the Star Trek universe and officially licensed by Paramount Consumer Products. The title is currently in development for PC and consoles.
Set aboard the U.S.S. Voyager and deep in the unexplored reaches of the Delta Quadrant, Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown invites players to relive—and redefine—the legendary starship’s journey back to Earth. The game blends exploration, ship & resource management, roguelite elements, and meaningful choices. Experience crew dynamics and a fresh take on a beloved sci-fi universe — with what-if scenarios that open up new possibilities.
Player decisions shape both the fate of the crew and the configuration of the U.S.S. Voyager itself. With each playthrough, the ship becomes a different version of itself — reengineered and reimagined based on the path taken through the quadrant and the command decisions made along the way.
In Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown, players take command of the U.S.S. Voyager as it traverses 12 vast sectors of the Delta Quadrant. Along the way, they’ll manage systems and crew, engage in diplomacy, navigate difficult moral decisions, and face the unknown. Familiar faces return, but their fates may differ—reshaped by the captain on the bridge.
Have you been waiting for a game like this to come out there in the Star Trek universe? How close to the source will it all be, or will it just be using names, locations, and some aliens to keep it all grounded? How big will the choices in the game be when it comes to the overall story? How many times will we need to make this voyage to see all of the scenarios play out? Teleport yourself down to the comment section so we can all discuss what we have here. There should be a whole lot more on the way out there for Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown now that we have the announcement. Keep on joining us here and on our social channels to see how it all replicates into our universe. Maybe it will help guide the real world to be more like the utopia that many have been watching for the past decades.
