Dig in deeper for the next vault hunter to hit the Borderlands, as we see Rafa come fully onto the scene for Borderlands 4
We had a deep dive into one of the Vault Hunters on the way to Borderlands 4, and now we can dive into the next one. This one is a little more on the melee side of things, as Gearbox is looking to mix things up a bit more with Rafa. Not that we have not seen a character like this in Borderlands before now, but Rafa is a little different. So different, that we should probably understand how he is not dead before the game launches on September 12th on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. October 3rd, for those looking to pick up the fight on the Switch 2. A solid option to take it all on the move for you, just as Rafa will be taking things on the move with his Exo Suit.
Here, with Rafa, we get to see another of the “test subjects” in the universe of Borderlands and how he has been forced to keep his Exo Suit on. Not because he is dead and needs it to move a corpse around, but because he has mastered it a bit and the Arc Blades that come with it. This will be the melee side of things mentioned before, as Rafa can use them in a few different ways in the game. Including how it will take us into a third-person view in Borderlands 4 when we activate it and need to slice-n-dice with the best of them. All to complement the various guns, grenades, and cannons that Rafa will have on his back in the game. A fun close-up fighter when we boil it all down, but with some of the skills to do some massive damage from a distance. Have a quick look at a bunch of the gameplay to see just how Rafa will be slaying it with the best of them when the game finally launches out there.

Do you like what we have to see here for Rafa, or does it feel a little too close to another Borderlands character we have had in the past? How well will the third-person view work, and will there be more than just quick cuts and dashes during that mode? Will there be a build for Rafa that does not use the Arc Blades at all, and only focuses on the explosions and lasers that he can haul around while running the world? Take the thoughts in your head and fire them off in the comments section. Then start up that discussion to keep things lively around here. We have more Vault Hunters and gameplay for Borderlands 4 on the way, so please keep on checking back here to see and hear about all of that as it comes. I know I am excited for it all, so I can only imagine how the masses are feeling out there still.
