Take the Borderlands fun on the go, with the recently announced Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 that will be launching
I had a feeling it was only a matter of time before we heard it was happening, but here we are with Borderlands 4 getting the full Switch 2 announcement for release. Not overly surprising with Gearbox wanting to make sure all of the fans that truly want the game have the option to throw all of their money at the studio. Sadly, it does not appear that this version of Borderlands 4 will be available on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 12th. Instead, this version is going to take slightly longer and will be hitting the streets on October 3rd for those who really want to take the game on the go. That is one of the bigger selling points for this version, ultimately.
So, what does this new announcement for Borderlands 4 bring along with it? Well, the ability to take the game on the go with you on the Switch 2. That’s about it. Of course, it will try to keep up with all of the bells and whistles the other platforms offer up, as long as you are on the dock, but there is not much else in the way of what this version of the game will offer. No specific use of the hardware, beyond portability, or whether it will be able to hit certain benchmarks while playing it on the go. There are other options that will allow for this, like the Steam Deck, so this is not the only way to be able to do this. It would have been nice to hear if Borderlands 4 was going to add something, especially with the extra weeks to launch, but it is what it is. Kind of a sad state of the world out there when it comes to all of our gaming.
