Cave Crave Is About To Crawl Out To A New Platform For Us

Cave Crave — What’s Next?

The PSVR2 version of Cave Crave is almost here, with a new mode to terrify players of Cave Crave already

I hope you are all ready to climb back into the PSVR2 headsets out there, as it looks as if Cave Crave is finally about to be unearthed on the platform. It has been available for a bit now on the PC VR platforms, but it looks like there is some light at the end of the tunnel, with Take IT Studio! and 3R Games gearing up to give the release of the new platform on July 10th. So very close for those looking to try the spelunking VR title out there. It is claimed that Cave Crave is one of the more accurate experiences to have in that space. Soon, more will have that access, along with a few more things dug up and added in with the coming update for all platforms. Let us dive right into all of that new information now.

While the new platform to jump from for Cave Crave is nice, there are also a few new updates on the way to the core version and the new version when it is ready. We will get to crawl through some new story chapters of the game, with more to come down the line. A new “tourist mode” that will allow us to wander about the caves in safety. For those who do not want the safety, a new Horror Mode can be unlocked to frighten us all more in the tight spaces. Then you can bring along friends and family to all of this in Cave Crave with multiplayer options opening up and allowing more to fall into it all. So many new things and ways to explore, and from the safety of one’s own home. Here is a video of the developer showing off things a bit more, while giving you the same safety information laid out before you. Map it all out and head deep into the game one more time after July 10th claws its way on out to us.

Cave Crave — What’s Next?

Take IT Studio! is excited to share that Cave Crave – a groundbreaking VR spelunking adventure developed by 3R Games, the creators of the hit title Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street. Cave Crave is available now on Meta Quest, and it just cracked the list of 50 top-selling platform titles! The game is set to arrive on PlayStation VR2 on July 10.

Cave Crave is described by its creators as “the most realistic cave exploration experience in VR.” Combining physical climbing, crawling, and its unique tight-space traversal mechanics, it offers an unparalleled journey into the underground.

Game Modes Available At Launch:

  • 📖 Story Mode: Start your journey with the first chapter of the story-driven expedition. A second map pack expanding the narrative is already in development and will be released as a free update shortly after launch.
  • 🗺️ Tourist Mode: Take your time to explore already visited caves without pressure or danger. Perfect for those who want to enjoy the environment and soundtrack in peace.
  • 💀 Horror Mode: A completely optional, standalone mode that plunges players into mysterious depths. Face the unknown, where your tools are your only protection. Not recommended for the faint-hearted.

Gameplay Highlights:

  • Mind-Bending Cave Systems: Say goodbye to generic, repetitive level design. Cave Crave features hand-crafted, natural cave layouts that challenge spatial awareness and orientation.
  • Realistic Environments: Feel the atmosphere as you explore detailed rock formations, interact with physics-based objects, and navigate terrain shaped by nature. The cave lives and breathes around you – sometimes literally.
  • Chalk Your Way: With no built-in map, players must rely on chalk markings to create their own trail and avoid getting lost deep beneath the surface.
  • True Free Climbing: Climb any surface using natural body motion and climbing tools. Walls, ceilings, narrow ledges – every surface is a potential path forward.
  • Breath Management: Squeeze through extremely tight spaces or prepare for underwater cave diving – a mechanic arriving in the first free post-launch update.
  • Break Barriers: Use tools like hammers and pickaxes to smash stalactites, clear rubble, and forge new paths through obstructed tunnels.
