Project Diarchy Makes Us Ready For Anything But Choice In The Outlast Trials

The Outlast Trials — Project Diarchy

New assets and Outlast reagents are coming to end us in the next update for The Outlast Trials

More of the horrors are coming out there with the next big update for The Outlast Trials. Not just an update that Red Barrels is giving to us for the story, as dark as it has been getting, but a new update that finally gives us a new Prime Asset into the world. Technically, it is two Prime Assets we are getting, but all in one body. An interesting concept and something that is fitting for the Outlast universe, while also making things harder in the game. All when Project Diarchy lands on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 15th. Not far away and all to build up for the next big update that will be here just before Halloween. Things are certainly brewing up out there for this title. For now, let us have a look at the new twins that are coming for us and the new set of trials we will need to make it through.

For our new Prime Asset, we are getting in The Outlast Trials, we are seeing a set of conjoined twins, Otto & Arora, getting pulled in. The pair came from wealth, but it seems that their father blamed them for their mother’s death and then offered them up to Murkoff. That is where the pair has learned to hone their skills with chemistry and chainsaws to become an ultimate predator who can see in all directions. So, we are going to need a new area filled with all manner of hiding locations. Hence why our new trials will be in an abandoned shopping mall. Not exactly what I would have thought, but it is fitting for the world of Outlast, so I am going to have to buy in. If that does not sound as scary as it should as of yet, have a look at the new cinematic we have to highlight these horrors and the new story coming at us. It is just below, along with a bit of news on how you can score some of those sweet Murkoff comics for free, so you can understand more of the lore this game keeps on building upon.

The Outlast Trials — Project Diarchy

What God has joined together, let no man rend asunder… and so it is with the Kress Siblings, Otto and Arora, twins conjoined at birth due to their in utero exposure to toxic chemicals, and the latest Prime Asset to arrive at The Outlast Trials! Firstborns to the wealthy industrial magnate Anton Kress, the twins suffered even before birth, as their mother was exposed to the poisonous fumes of Anton’s experiments and died bringing her children into the world. Reviled by their peers and blamed by their father for their mother’s death, the Kress Siblings nevertheless found their sick pleasures wherever they could… and will soon be unleashed to terrorize the Reagents of The Outlast Trials. Season 4.0 — Project Diarchy — arrives on July 15th, along with additional content updates, QoL improvements, and more!

Otto and Arora are two halves of the same sadistic whole: the former a one-time politician who now wields a chainsaw instead of words, and the latter a brilliant chemist capable of devising toxic weapons far deadlier than anything her late father ever crafted. Boasting two brains for their one shared body, Otto & Arora have a complete 360-degree field of vision, making it nearly impossible to escape their gaze. Brother Otto will fall upon his victims in a bloody melee frenzy, while Sister Arora can catch players unaware by lobbing poison flasks for a ranged attack. Together, they comprise the most difficult Prime Asset the Reagents have yet faced.

The twins skulk the halls of the newest Trial Environment, The Shopping Mall. Having prepared their preferred puppet candidate, they’ve now organized a rally for the all-but-predetermined election, to be held at the American wonder of the world: the shopping mall. This bastion to capitalism typically draws people from all walks of life… which is precisely why Otto & Arora have roped off the area for VIPs only. With a long-held disdain for the poor that has since devolved into pure, unadulterated disgust, the twins only want the wealthy elites in attendance at their rally — especially those eager to contribute donations. After all, as a prestigious, invite-only event, you can’t get in unless you spend, spend, spend… earning yourself a seat at the political spectacle of the decade.

Descend into the disturbing origin story of Otto & Arora by exploring the latest issue of the Murkoff Collections comic book series, now available for free on the official Red Barrels website. As well, players can expect a host of other features coming in S4 of The Outlast Trials, including a new environment, a new Trial, and MK-Challenges, as well as the reintroduction of the Rebirth system, now with added options for team play. More details and full patch notes will arrive with the update on July 15th!

Following the Season 4 launch this Summer, The Outlast Trials sets its sights on Fall 2025 for the next major update — just in time for Halloween, including a Limited-Time Event and a new game mode!

Do these new twins in The Outlast Trials give you the proper chills down the spine, or do you think it is just going to add a whole new layer of difficulty to the game modes? Why are we getting a shopping mall out there, and will it truly be fitting for the new Prime Asset, or just another one to give us nightmares? How annoying is it going to be having a Prime Asset that we cannot easily hide from and can see in every direction from now on? Take those thoughts and let them all out down in the comment section before discussing. We have been loving The Outlast Trials since it launched, and will keep all of the news flowing out there for it. So, please keep on coming back here to check it all out and see everything else that we are going to have in the mix. It will be a wild ride, and much more so, as we head on into the spooky season.
