Dead Take Is Giving Us Two Actors To Help Bring One Character To Life

Dead Take — Live Action Casting

Two live action actors are on the way to Dead Take to help us all better understand the role we will play in Dead Take

In a story about actors looking for another, as we will have in Dead Take, we are going to need some leads who will be able to take up the roles. Not just in the in-game method, but also with some live action aspects in the way that Surgent Studios is crafting this PC title for us all. So, to do this, Pocketpair has tapped a few to help bring the lavish party of Dead Take to life and give us all something to look at in the spliced in footage for the game. As long as a psychological horror title with some escape room mechanics is what you are down to experience in the world. If you are, then let us reveal the two names that you may know from some other titles that have hit the streets recently.

To dive right in for Dead Take, here we get to see as Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil Village) and Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) will be taking center stage for the game and bringing our leads to life. All with some weird flashing and very little gameplay to help usher them in, but that could be a good thing, as we can keep some of the puzzles obfuscated until the game fully launches into the world. Both have a solid pedigree behind them for the roles, even if we do not know exactly what they are going to be in Dead Take. At least further than just the names, and that they will be part of the fun for it all. Given that these do not feel like stunt casting, as other titles have done, it does feel as if they will have the talent to help bring the game to life and in a way that will be engaging and not just in a “look at the face of humans we have” kind of way. Take a look at it all just a little lower if you so wish.

Dead Take — Live Action Casting

Surgent Studios, the award-winning team behind Tales Of Kenzera: ZAU, and Pocketpair have officially revealed the first cast members of their upcoming psychological horror game: Dead Take. Two members of the game’s stellar cast were announced: Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil Village) and Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), who will take on the lead roles.

Set in a luxurious yet secluded Hollywood Hills mansion, Dead Take casts players as an actor searching for his friend who has gone missing after a lavish Hollywood party. As they navigate escape-room-style puzzles and splice together videos they find along the way, players will uncover the darkest secrets behind the entertainment industry’s glittering facade.

The studio also revealed a new video teaser of Dead Take, which offers a glimpse into the in-game cinema where live-action videos can be played and spliced.

Dead Take is published by Pocketpair Publishing (Palworld, Craftopia) and is set to launch this year on PC via Steam.

Do you enjoy the two actors we have coming to Dead Take to bring the roles to life? Will they be playing two different roles who are trying to play the same role, or is the video a little misleading for all of that? How many other roles will be filled out in the same way for this game? Will it all still focus on the escape room puzzles in the end? Give us all of the feedback in the comment section below. I am curious about Dead Take more and more, so expect to see more from me about all of this and a few other titles along the way.
