The Dawnwalker is heading into the day & night with a gameplay overview for the upcoming The Blood Of Dawnwalker
For a title that is not coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC until 2026, The Blood Of Dawnwalker is coming at us all hard ever since it was first announced. It has only been a few weeks, as of now, since Rebel Wolves showed the world the first chapter of what they plan to build out. Now, we are back with a massive gameplay overview and a deep dive into just what we can expect in the final game. Well, more of the groundwork of what to expect, as this is still an early build for The Blood Of Dawnwalker, but it does look like they have some of the gameplay mechanics locked in for it all. That all needed to be said, as things could change as the development and testing continue, but that does not mean we do not have a whole lot to sink our teeth into for the game.
All of that out of the way, let us have a look at just what our Dawnwalker will be doing in the game. As it is an action-RPG, kind of like The Witcher, we can expect to have all manner of quests and combat just as that title. In fact, it looks like a lot of that will be in here with the combat mixing things up with directional attacking and blocking, along with the use of special abilities and attacks. Those attacks consume our energy during the day and our blood at night. Yes, each cycle in The Blood Of Dawnwalker will have us shifting between the human and vampire forms we have, each with their own bonuses and drawbacks. There will also be a mix of the two when it comes to all of this, with the world changing and reacting to which side we lean into more. You have to enjoy a dynamic world like this one looks to be.
In addition to the combat and exploration in Dawnwalker, we are also going to have a good chunk of character customization in the way of different skill and ability trees to go down as we level up. Three different tracks to go down, with one for Human, one for Vampire, and one for Hybrid. There is also a list of things under and Active Action tree that also stands alone, but maybe we will get more of that in the future. This is something we are going to need to know well in The Blood Of Dawnwalker, as it does seem we are dealing with more than just vampires in the world. Yes, there are their little minions and humans who aid them, but it looks as if other dark creatures have stepped into the light of the world and will have different things that come from that when the sun goes down. If that all sounds fun, then have a look at it in motion just a little lower down.

The Blood Of Dawnwalker is the first chapter of Rebel Wolves’ brand new role-playing saga — a single-player open-world dark fantasy action-RPG with a strong focus on story and narrative. Developed on Unreal Engine 5 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Coming in 2026.
14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they’ve been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?
Do you think that Dawnwalker is going to be able to step out of the shadows of the other titles it is building from, or will it need to lean into what made those games work so it can perfectly tell its story? How many different creatures will we get to run into in this world, and will it be more than just the evil monsters we are going to deal with? How many players will step up to all of the bosses from the start of the game just to see if they can beat them all as a fledgling creature? Take all of those thoughts in your head and share them in the comments below. We have a feeling we are going to see so much more for The Blood Of Dawnwalker flowing out there soon, so please keep on checking in here to see all of it as it drips out there.
