Gloomy Eyes Is Announced & Walking Us All Along A Strangely Dark Path

Gloomy Eyes — Official Announcement

A new cozy horror title, Gloomy Eyes, is officially announced with Gloomy Eyes offering up some new self-co-op play

We are always on the lookout for some new, and strange horror titles around here, and I think Gloomy Eyes might just be one to scratch some itches around here. No, this is not going to be some massive and gore-filled title that one might expect, but a new title on the way from Fishing Cactus and Untold Tales to offer us all a sweet little treat in the mix. With Gloomy Eyes taking more of a whimsical approach to things, with terms like Little Nightmares meets Tim Burton being tossed around here. All for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC when the game is finally ready to stroll on out there. Let us have a look at the official announcement we have after all of the teasing the world has been giving us.

Even as the title of Gloomy Eyes does sound like it would fit in the wheelhouse of the director, this one has a bit of a different twist to things. The sun has given up on humanity, as it should, and left everyone in darkness. There is a faint glimmer of hope out there, and Gloomy (a sweet zombie), along with Nena (a mischievous human), have set out to see if there is a way to bring the light back into the world. All as we control both of the characters to navigate the world of Gloomy Eyes along with solving puzzles and using their abilities to make sure we make it through to the end. A solid little twist to the formula we have seen with other games, along with the big-eyes and small-mouth approach that has been stylized for a while now. Have a look and see if the game is going to hit your heartstrings perfectly when it is ready to come to market. Then you will be able to play with yourself as desired.

Gloomy Eyes — Official Announcement

When the sun gave up on humanity, darkness and gloom took its place.

In a world plunged into eternal night and torn by conflict between the living and the undead, one faint glimmer of hope still flickers in the hearts of two special souls. Gloomy Eyes tells the tale of Gloomy, a sweet zombie boy, and Nena, a mischievous human girl, who defy the rules by teaming up and embarking on a quest to bring back the daylight.

A “Self-Coop” Adventure

Control both Gloomy and Nena in a completely single-player experience, switching between characters to solve brain-teasing environmental puzzles. Each character brings their own set of abilities, and you’ll need the skills and quirks of both to progress through this delightfully wretched darkness.

Creepy Cozy Horror

Step into a world where the macabre meets the magical. Inspired by the art style of Tim Burton, Gloomy Eyes offers a lovingly crafted universe brimming with spooky charm, eerie beauty, and heartwarming gloom. No gore or jump scares to test your nerves, just a whimsical haunting atmosphere that will pull at your undead heartstrings.

A Tale of Forbidden Companionship

Gather round for a heartwarmingly bleak fairy tale of necromantic adventure, as told by the old gravekeeper. While the living and the undead are squabbling something fierce, two unlikely souls meet and become one another’s closest companions. But for any hope of a cheery forever after, they must set off on a journey together to find the sun and restore its light to the world.

Explore Twisted Little Dioramas

Each level is a stunning, handcrafted rotatable diorama, overflowing with visual macabre charm and ghoulishly delightful details. Explore these miniature worlds from multiple angles as you uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and play out a story of a love that should never be.

Where do you site with what we have for Gloomy Eyes, and does it feel like a perfect blending of all of the genres we have mentioned? Do you think that humanity should be over with and give in to the darkness, or could this truly be the last bit of light needed to bring it all back from the bleakness? Wander on down to the comment section to discuss all of this and much more. Now that we have Gloomy Eyes placed on the radar, we will do what we can to bring more of the news and updates for it.
