Have a bit more fun with Meat Boy in a new dimension with the announcement we have for Super Meat Boy 3D
Many thought that the fun was over, but here we are back and with a new announcement for Super Meat Boy 3D. The fun little platformer that Team Meat gave us a long time ago in a 2D space is now going 3D. With a bit of help and Headup behind the publishing, but it is still on the way to us sometime in the future. All of that and Super Meat Boy 3D is going to be offering up all of this fun on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when it does. Now that we have the basics out of the way, let’s have a look at some of the gameplay and how this title is finally making its way into a full 3D space out there. In-game, as the game has always existed in our 3D space up until now.
To get it out of the way, Super Meat Boy 3D is not just a remake of one of the classic titles, but is placed in 3D. It is another in the line that takes our little animated glob of meat and has us running, jumping, and exploding our way through the new 3D space out there. Along with using some of the classic movements, like the wall-run, and adding in new dimensions and challenges to the game as we do it all. All so we can save the girlfriend of Meat Boy from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux. Yes, if you have not been in on this IP before now, it is weird and hilarious on top of being a tough-as-nails platformer to try to survive. Little much else is known about the game beyond that, but we do have a little bit of gameplay to look at just a little lower down so you can get a better idea of what is going on out there with it.
Super Meat Boy 3D — Announcement
Super Meat Boy 3D is a tough-as-nails platformer where you play as an animated cube of meat who’s trying to save his girlfriend (who happens to be made of bandages) from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux – IN 3D!
Our meaty hero will leap from walls, over seas of buzz saws, through crumbling caves and pools of old trash, sacrificing his own well-being to save his damsel in distress – IN 3D!
Super Meat Boy 3D brings the old school difficulty of classic retro titles we all know and love, and streamlines them down to the essential no bull, straight forward twitch reflex platforming. Ramping up in difficulty from hard to soul crushing, Meat Boy will brave lush (but also on fire) forests, vast dumps filled with the waste of mankind, and high-tech forges producing the very traps that will inevitably kill Meat Boy over and over and over – IN 3D!
And if a bunch of levels weren’t enough, we also have epic boss fights and tons of unlockable secrets – IN 3D!
Features:
- Tough-as-nails precision platforming action
- Brutal, but fair levels designed to break you.
- Boss. Fights.
- Dark World levels so tough, you’ll scream in the rain at a bus stop.
- A soundtrack that was once described by a Guitar Center employee as “hey, either buy the guitars or get out. We’re seriously going to call the cops!”
- 3D!
Did you fall in love with Meat Boy in the 2D space, and now glad to take things into a new dimension? How much harder will the game be with all of this new space to go into, or could it make it a bit easier for many gamers who have grown up with only 3D games out there? How well will all of the humor carry over for the masses, and will anything be toned down, given the current state of the world out there? Take those thoughts on down to the comment section to discuss it all and more. There is going to be more for Super Meat Boy 3D dropping out there as we get closer to the launch of it all, so please keep on checking in on the site for all of those updates and the many other things we have on the way out there. It is going to be a fun little ride, for sure.
