The ninth main Resident Evil title has been revealed with Resident Evil Requiem on the way and coming much sooner than expected
We made it through villages and various other remakes out there, and now we are back with the official reveal for Resident Evil Requiem. This is going to be the ninth official title in the mainline of the IP that Capcom has been bringing us for decades now. Something truly new, even if it looks like we will go back to a few places from the past in the Resident Evil story. Not a terrible thing at all, but worth noting so we can get an idea as to what is going in out there. Especially as we not only have the announcement that the game is coming, but it will be hitting the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 27th of 2026. Not too far off, and I know we are all ready for it.
While we do have all of the above for Resident Evil Requiem, the following reveal trailer does not give much else to go on for what we are going to expect to play. It does look like we might be playing a bit of a mix between Grace Ashcroft and potentially her mother in some of the weirdness that went down in Raccoon City. Given that we are seeing a lot of the city in the chaos after the events of Resident Evil 3, though, it might not be the case specifically. Even if it does show us going back into certain locations and facing off with various bioweapons that were let loose in the city. I am sure we will have much more to see when we finally get some gameplay, but for now, we can sit happily knowing the next in line is not going to be a remake of one of the older games. Maybe not another that puts us into a first-person view of things, too.

Did you think we were going to be getting another remake of one of the older Resident Evil titles, and would it have been weird to get a more action-heavy one instead? Do you think we are going to play between two characters in this one, or will it be one lead that we follow for the whole story? What locations, if any, do you think we are going to revisit in the wake of the Raccoon City explosion? Rush on down to the comment section to leave all of those thoughts and feelings for us to dissect and discuss. We are certainly going to keep a close eye out for more updates to Resident Evil Requiem, so please join us on our socials and the site, not to miss out.
