Get ready to fight with all of the Mortal Kombat titles coming back at us with the announcement for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
Many more blasts from the past seem to be making their way out to us after the recent State Of Play, and here we go with the announcement for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. A new collection of titles in the IP that Digital Eclipse is bringing together with all of the permission from the founders of it all. One that will take us all the way back to the arcade origins and give us all of the “important” titles in one place for those hardcore Mortal Kombat fans out there. What that part means is still up for interpretation, but it looks like we are going to get a solid run from many long-dead systems, but now on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC sometime in 2025. Along with a few other fun extras for all of those hard fans out there who crave all the knowledge.
As of right now, the list of Mortal Kombat titles in this collection is not fully listed, but it does look like it will range from the original up to at least MK3. There is a listing of titles coming from some of the more lower-end or obscure platforms like the Gameboy and NeoGeo as well. Along with all of that, it looks like we are going to get a whole lot of extra behind-the-scenes footage for how this iconic franchise came to life and how things might have gone differently had lawsuits and various other events in the world played out. The true bread and butter for those Mortal Kombat fans out there who have only read the articles or heard the random interviews over the decades. Have a look and see if you are going to want to wishlist this collection well before it launches. It is a slice of nostalgia, and could also give hints as to where things might be going in the future. Not to mention allow us all to have the full roster of titles in one place and maybe load it into our own 3D-printed gaming cabinet.
