MindsEye Is Delivering More Than Just Explosive Gameplay To Us

MindsEye — Introducing The Game

Learn more of the features for MindsEye as well as how the community will be able to keep MindsEye ever-growing

We have had a load of gameplay teases and showcases before when it comes to MindsEye, and here we go with one last one just ahead of the June 10th release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. One that offers up a lot more of the world that Build A Rocket Boy has been crafting, more of the actual gameplay we will have, and also how they will be using the game to all us to all take a part in building video game experiences. Not to the degree of MindsEye in total, but to give us a taste of what goes into it all and keep the in-game experiences rolling well after we finish the core experience. Yes, this means there will be a lot of user-generated content to keep the life of the game going on into the coming years. Hopefully, that means that we will also get more from the main team, but for now, this is what we have. So, let us all dig in.

In the following video for MindsEye, we get to see just how this cyberpunk world is flowing and our role we will be playing in the game. Not just through a basic cover-based shooter, as many thought, but with loads of other styles of gameplay mixed in and quite a bit more of the driving. All as we use our little drone that is linked up to us to allow for some of the other special actions we will need to take in the game. Along with the fact that it will also be AI-driven in MindsEye, so we can lean on it to help us out to tag enemies as well as help with a bit of crowd control and hacking of other robots in the game world. Not what I was expecting from all the footage we have had before, but a solid little surprise that gets me further excited to see just what it is going to hold for us all at launch. Which, leads us right into the next portion of the gameplay with the Game Creation System that is going to be provide for the PC gamers out there, but playable by all platforms the game is launching on.

While not new to gaming in general, it does look as if MindsEye is taking a bit of a swing for the fences when it comes to offering up the user-generated content. These will be missions and events that other players can build, and we can access through portals in the game. These will be a bit more involved than just letting us play with some settings and place markers, though, as this new system looks to give us access to all of the assets in the game and build up full missions as the development team did for the core of MindsEye. All in an effort to make game design a bit more accessible to those interested, while also keeping the game living on long past the first few weeks of the launch. Sure, there will be some silly ones out there, as humans are going to do that, but this does mean that it can also spark the imaginations of others and offer up tested tools to make sure it all flows well. Have a look and see if it is going to be something you are diving into when the launch comes next week.

MindsEye — Introducing The Game

Build A Rocket Boy, led by legendary game director Leslie Benzies, and IOI Partners are thrilled to share some exciting updates on MindsEye, the highly anticipated narrative-driven action-adventure thriller launching on June 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

With its release now just weeks away, MindsEye is already generating buzz for its best-in-class cinematics, dynamic gameplay, and groundbreaking integration with user-generated content through a proprietary Game Creation System that promises to keep players engaged long after the credits roll.

Set in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, MindsEye delivers a tightly crafted linear story campaign. Players will step into the shoes of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier haunted by fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant, as he uncovers a conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, an unchecked military, and a threat so sinister that it endangers the very survival of humanity. The game’s story is brought to life with state-of-the-art visuals built on Unreal Engine 5.

Furthermore, MindsEye includes Build A Rocket Boy’s proprietary Game Creation System, empowering players to craft anything in their minds’ eye, in MindsEye. This deceptively easy-to-use Game Creation System has been hailed as a “novel feature for creative gamers” and is the very same system Build A Rocket Boy uses to create the continuous stream of premium content for our players.

Players can craft their own experiences using all of the MindsEye assets, creating everything from custom missions to entirely new scenarios within the game’s expansive, richly detailed world. Whether you’re designing a high-speed chase through Redrock’s bustling cityscapes or a stealth mission in its industrial outskirts, it is designed to be intuitive and easy to use, ensuring that players of all skill levels can bring their imagination to life.

But the excitement won’t end there. Build A Rocket Boy will be delivering a constant stream of fresh premium content monthly, thanks to the power of the Game Creation System, ensuring MindsEye is a living, ever-expanding player experience. The studio will regularly release new missions, challenges, and game assets. The continuous stream of studio-developed content, combined with the very best of the community’s own beautiful creations, means that MindsEye will continue to surprise and delight its players for decades to come.

Were you expecting to see or experience any of this in MindsEye, or did you think it was going to be just another cover-based shooter? Do you think some of the skills the drone will have are going to be a little over-the-top, or will they stick to keeping them all grounded in the mix out there? How many levels do you think will be made just to troll players out there, or do you think that the community will embrace what the team is giving us and use it mostly for good? Float on down to the comment section we have here and let the discussion start rolling for the next week. We are going to try to offer up all that we can for MindsEye, so please keep on coming back here to see and hear all of it as it flows on out there. It is going to be a fun ride, and I am even further excited to see how it is all going to pan out when it does.
