The next crew member of Directive 8020 is here and things are a bit more technical now in the Directive 8020 universe
The crew keeps on stepping up out there in the world of Directive 8020 as we have our next member on display. This is all part of the series of videos that Supermassive Games is pumping out there for us all to give us a feel for all of the characters we are going to be guiding in the game when it launches in October. Still a long way from now, but it is keeping Directive 8020 in the light a bit longer so we can make sure we reserve some space for it on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Especially with how technical everything is getting here with the inclusion of the latest member of the team. Let us dive in and see just what we can figure out about this one now.
Here we go with getting to meet with Josef Cernan in Directive 8020. This would be the ship’s technical engineer who is not only the systems expert, but also one of the members of the team, trying to further hold them all together emotionally. A weird thing to see with how Josef talks in this video, as it does sound like Josef is more of a robot or android than the others. Not just because of the same glowing eye bit, but the way Josef talks about humanity in the video. This could be the first big thing pointing to us not playing just normal humans in Directive 8020. This might all be an AI trying to survive and understand, while the monsters coming could be the humans that were all left behind. A bit of a stretch to go on, but it does feel like it is a simple leap of logic until we get to fully dive into the story of the game.
Directive 8020 — Meet The Crew: Josef Cernan
“Everything is going to be ok. Things can only get better.”
Aboard the Cassiopeia, every team member matters. Technical Engineer Josef Cernan is not only a systems expert – he’s the connective tissue that keeps the mission running smoothly, both technically and emotionally.
How well the mission goes is up to you.
How are you feeling about Josef here for Directive 8020 and do you get the same robotic feeling that I am here? Would you want to play a game where we are robots again or will that all be a misdirect that these videos are giving us as we build things up? Who do you suspect will be the plucky comic relief in this crew or will they all be dead serious the whole time? Take those thoughts and share them all down in the comments while gearing up to discuss them all. There is going to be more for Directive 8020 in the coming weeks, so please keep on checking in here for all of those updates and the many others we still have on the way out there. It is going to be one crazy ride, indeed.
