Have Our First Look At The Upcoming Film Adaptation For Until Dawn

Until Dawn — Film First Look

Until Dawn is getting a feature film adaptation and we have the first look at how this Until Dawn movie is playing out

If you missed out on the announcement from a while ago, Until Dawn is getting a full film adaptation out there from Sony Pictures. A weird call, as the full game was its own cinematic experience and there was a movie night mode for us all to experience it even for those who are not huge gamers out there. Nonetheless, it is happening and we have our first look at the upcoming Until Dawn movie. This includes the people behind bringing it all to life and the cast of actors lending their talents as well. Weirdly, only one of those from the main game will be back and maybe not even playing the same character from the video game. Let us see how this is all going down now that we have some official updates for it all.

Instead of this being a shot-for-shot remake of Until Dawn, it looks like they are very loosely using the events of the game to bring it all to life. Maybe even with Peter Stormare being the only real link between it all. I say that as the story of this film takes us into a secluded location with a group of teens, only instead of the monsters from the video game coming after them, it is a different killer or death style. When that all goes down, the whole thing restarts in a different setting but same characters. Only to keep repeating it all until the whole group survives until dawn. Almost like another messed up Groundhog Day scenario set in a horror setting. Even closer to the likes of Happy Death Day with the characters only having so many times they can die before it becomes a permanent state for them all. Have a look at what is out there now and see if you are going to get excited for the full trailer soon.

Until Dawn — Film First Look

Same night, different nightmare. Hear from David F. Sandberg, Gary Dauberman, and Peter Stormare about the filmmaking process for the Until Dawn Movie. Trailer coming soon.

One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.

Alright, so why is this even called Until Dawn and set in the same universe if the only thing that links them is the need to survive the night? There are no monsters as we saw in the video game and it looks like even the human killer might be different in this film too. The only saving grace to it all would be if Peter Stormare is reprising his role as the curator, even though he is listed as “Hill”, so that we have some better link between them all. That would make a bit of sense so that this Until Dawn would be running along a similar line as the video game just in a different setting and genre. Bringing things very meta for all of the fans out there. Sadly, as this is Hollywood, it is most likely just going to try to cash in the IP more than anything and waste the talents of those involved. Especially as they had the perfect roadmap to follow already that has brought Sony so much money to date in the first place.

Are you curious why we are getting an Until Dawn movie or do you think we are looking at this all from the wrong perspective? Could these all be linked together in some way or will they be completely separate things out there instead? Is this more than a bit of stunt casting to throw fans off and bring them in or is it a way to obfuscate the true story going on behind the scenes before the film releases? Take all of those thoughts down to the comment section and then feel free to discuss it all. We are keeping an eye on the Until Dawn movie and will offer up the trailer to you all as soon as we have it. Please keep on checking back here to see and hear about it all. I will keep hopeful that we are only being obfuscated from the truth and not seeing something that should not have been made in the first place.
