Metal Gear Survive Shows Of Some New Modes To Entice Us To Enjoy The Game

Metal Gear Survive — TGS 2016 Gameplay

New gameplay for Metal Gear Survive has been released out of TGS and it shows off two of the modes in Metal Gear Survive that we’ll get to play

Just about a month ago we were all treated with a look at Metal Gear Survive out of Gamescom. To the dismay of Konami, the game was received with a lot more jeers than cheers given all of the issues that surrounded to franchise founder and his team. None the less Metal Gear Survive is still going to be a thing that comes to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime and now we have some real gameplay to look at for the game directly from TGS. No matter how much you hate the idea you can’t stop it from launching.

Thankfully for those non-Japanese speaking gamers out there we get all of this new gameplay with English captions so we don’t have to assume what is going on in Metal Gear Survive. We get a good look at one mission in the grand scheme of the story and it looks like there are at least two modes that we’ll have to go through to push on. At least here we have Acquire and Defend as well as a bit of the backstory on why there are “zombies” running around trying to kill everyone in the Metal Gear V maps.

Metal Gear Survive — TGS 2016 Gameplay

In this world exclusive, Metal Gear Survive takes to the stage for the first time at TGS 2016. Join a squad of four players as they work together on a mission to infiltrate a dilapidated compound and then defend it from the onslaught of relentless creatures. Using co-op stealth, infiltration and defense tactics, and special new equipment and weapons, the squad provides a glimpse of both new and familiar survival gameplay elements that form Metal Gear Survive.

I’ll first admit that Metal Gear Survive does look like a game that is just being made so Konami can hold onto an amazing gem just a bit longer. There isn’t any denying that. That all said, I do have to admit that even though it reuses maps from the core game and a lot of the other assets Metal Gear Survive kind of looks like a fun addition into the franchise. The zombie thing is a bit overdone in the industry right now but given the events and tech in Metal Gear V I can see how they move onto another dimension filled with “the dead.”

That also isn’t an edgy opinion here but the truth. Metal Gear Survive does look like it will build off a great system and then add in all the crafting and survival that many other games out there can’t seem to get down right. I just hope that they don’t try to force Snake into the game in any way other than being mentioned in the story. If he jumps over that would be a little odd to me as well as a blatant hand-forcing to keep the franchise alive even though the brains behind it have been metaphorically shot.

Does the gameplay for Metal Gear Survive change your opinion on the game or are you still that upset that no matter what you’ll hate it? Do you think that this could be a natural progression to the franchise given where it left off and the few team members that stayed around are just taking it there? Will you just hate this game no matter what? Let us know your thoughts and feel free to discuss in the comments below. For more on Metal Gear Survive as it comes, be sure to stay right here as we’ll keep covering it no matter what.
