XCOM: Chimera Squad — Key Art

A new XCOM game is announced with XCOM: Chimera Squad for the PC that is going to be launching before the end of the month

Here we go with another entry into the XCOM series with the next big title from Firaxis Games and 2K Games. It has been a bit of a time since we have had one and now we have one to look for on the PC this April 24th. Maybe it will make it over to the consoles at some point, but for now it is as it is. Nonetheless, we have the announcement of XCOM: Chimera Squad from them all and bringing back the turn-based strategy game just in time for us to break some sanity. Or is it save some sanity? I am a bit remiss on this right now. Moving right along…

As you will see below, XCOM: Chimera Squad takes place in a future where everyone has survived everything and the humans and aliens are fully teamed up again. All to fight off the threats out there via multiple missions the squad is sent out on. Something that will now have a new mechanic to start with as we will get to choose the Breach points in the mission before diving back into the normal XCOM gameplay. With all of the usual abilities and skills they have and will need to keep fully up to par along the way. All to keep them alive and fighting the good fight out there.

XCOM: Chimera Squad — Gameplay Overview

After years of alien rule, humanity won the war for Earth. But when the Overlords fled the planet, they left their former soldiers behind. Now, five years after the events of XCOM 2, humans and aliens are working together to forge a civilization of cooperation and coexistence.

Welcome to City 31, a model of peace in a post-invasion world. However, not all of Earth’s inhabitants support interspecies alliance. Chimera Squad, an elite force of human and alien agents, must work together to destroy the underground threats driving the city toward chaos.

Your agents are unique: each of them equipped with special tactical abilities and driven by a different motivation for joining Chimera Squad. Deploy targeted team members to investigate and combat the dangers that pervade the districts of City 31.

Lead Chimera Squad through a new experience that innovates on XCOM‘s turn-based legacy, utilizing strategy, teamwork, and new breach-and-clear gameplay to complete your mission objectives.

The future of City 31 depends on you.
