Ubisoft has delayed a few of their titles, Watch Dogs: Legion included, until later next year so Watch Dogs fans will have to wait just a bit longer now
Even more video games delays have been placed out there and Watch Dogs: Legion is one of the next to get pushed out a bit further than expected. Not only that one, but Ubisoft has opted to push out a few other titles to try to better their fiscal year. Titles like Gods & Monsters and Rainbow Six: Quarantine have been pushed out along with the next Watch Dogs title. The new release windows being the fiscal year of 2020 to 2021. This could mean we will not see any of these titles until after July of 2020 at the earliest. My guess is sometime during the holiday season of 2020 but that is still yet to be determined at this point.
As with almost all delays here, it looks like Watch Dogs: Legion and the others have been pushed out for “more polish” and the teams to make the games to the level we are expecting from the studios. I will go with all studios and not just the Ubisoft ones as I know some of you out there do not expect much over the years. This is at least a sign that the company is trying to give us the top-quality games we demand from them and with Watch Dogs: Legion being a huge undertaking for them, I will wait to get the best games ever. It is a small price to pay, as well as a nice break from all of the other huge titles that are dropping early in the year when some of these were supposed to come at us. Just make us some great games and I know I will be forgiving.
Gods & Monsters, Watch Dogs: Legion, And Rainbow Six Quarantine Delayed To Fiscal Year 2020 To 2021
We have decided to postpone the releases of Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, and Watch Dogs: Legion until 2020-21. While each of these games already has a strong identity and high potential, we want our teams to have more development time to ensure that their respective innovations are perfectly implemented so as to deliver optimal experiences for players. This decision will have a very significant impact on our financial results for this fiscal year and goes against our recent successes in building a more stable development model. However, it is in line with our strategy to maximize the future value of our brands for the long-term benefit of our employees, players, and shareholders. We expect it to have a positive impact on our financial performance as from 2020-21.
Was it a huge shock that all of these titles have been pushed out or did you think we would be seeing them during the normal Watch Dogs release windows we have had? Do you think this will make the games that much better or will it be a way to bring them out during the lulls in the release windows? Which title were you looking forward to the most here? Let us know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss away. When we have updates for Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, and Watch Dogs: Legion we will bring them here. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and much more.
