The Outlast Trials has a new trailer that hints at how this will link into the Outlast universe and how the game could flow
There was a lot of curiosity that popped off back when The Outlast Trials was announced last year and still a lot more to go. More so as it is not the third in the franchise from Red Barrels but a multiplayer title set in the same universe. Something that caught a lot of attention given that the Outlast games have been a solo horror experience and now we can have the scares with our friends. Now we have a new look at how that might actually be as well as how things are going to go down when the game does finally come to us all.
Most of the following trailer is cinematic in nature but does show off some the world of Outlast during the Cold War era and just how we are going to explain players having some of the tech abilities we had in the games already but in a time where the cameras were not available. As it looks, we will have special goggles drilled onto our character’s head before being thrown into the dark mazes to survive other horrors with our friends. That is how it all looks for The Outlast Trials here at least. It also looks like it could all be more of a co-op event instead of a normal game mode we expect when we hear multiplayer. Unless we have other players running around as the big enemies out to crush our heads with sledgehammers. Have a look and get teased a bit more as to what is going on with the game thus far.
The Outlast Trials — Teaser
Set in the era of the Cold War, human guinea pigs are involuntarily recruited by the good folks at the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control. In a world of distrust, fear, and violence, your morals will be challenged, your endurance tested, and your sanity crushed. All in the name of progress, science, and profit.
Do you suspect that The Outlast Trials will be more of a co-op affair in the universe or will it carry on the latest tradition of many versus one or two? Do you feel like this excuse to have the night vision in the game will fit or will it feel a bit off given things? Do you think it will hold up the same horrors here or will it fall into the same issues horror multiplayer titles usually go? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If there is more to share for The Outlast Trials or the universe, you know we will have it all here. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that and more.
