Meet a human monster of The Evil Within 2 that we will have to survive as well as understand in the grander scheme of The Evil Within 2
The Evil Within 2 is going to be filled to the brim with all of those horrific monsters and other terrors to kill us and haunt our dreams. There is no doubt in that as we’ve already seen what the minds over at Tango Gameworks have made before and what they are already bringing to the game here now. They would need to so they can keep up with all of the hype and anticipation horror fans have for The Evil Within 2 and are looking forward to seeing on October 13th with their PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I know I am as Bethesda has done a great job showing all of this off in a great setting and has the proven track record of doing just what we are talking about, but of course there has to be more than just horrible monsters to frighten us all.
Here we get a look at one of the “Human Monsters” in The Evil Within 2 in terms of Stefano Valentini. The current focus of the marketing campaign going on as he is a photographer who tries to find the beauty in the final moments of someone’s life. All to the point that he has no issue setting all of that up just so he can capture it for eternity and then display them all. Display them he does to as it will be a good portion of the in-game art that hangs around Union and shows off his past and present victims of his craft. How we will tackle this problem with Sebastian is anyone’s guess, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’ll be out there haunting the streets and minds of all in STEM.
Have a look at Stefano in the latest trailer for The Evil Within 2 and get a feel for how he will act in the game and how he will haunt our minds. Tango Gameworks has put a lot of effort into him and you can totally see it here. I can’t wait to see what else, if any more, that they have lined up here as we only have a little over a month or so until The Evil Within 2 launches. Maybe Bethesda will keep the others hidden until then though and we will be even more mortified as they could be worse and more twisted that Stefano here. Time will tell and now we wait yet some more.
The Evil Within 2 — The Twisted, Deadly Photographer
Not only will Sebastian have to contend with the myriad horrific creatures waiting for him in The Evil Within 2, he’ll also have to deal with the human “monsters” who have made their way into the new STEM world.
Wretched creatures like Stefano Valentini, an artist with dark proclivities and unbounded imagination. You’ll see examples of his work scattered throughout Union – from grisly photographs of his victims, to the “moment of death” tableaus he creates, capturing the last seconds of a person’s life in a tangible, looping scene
After losing his eye in an explosion during his time as a war photographer, Stefano rapidly descended into madness. His newfound “vision” drove him to become fascinated by the precise instant when death takes a person – that split second in time when people are, in his opinion, at their most open and most beautiful. Stefano returned home from the war with a newfound purpose. But he wouldn’t wait for these perfect moments to arise on their own. Why should he, when he could orchestrate those final breaths? One victim became two, and soon enough he had become a serial killer, photographing each of his victims’ faces at the exact moment of their demise.
But the real world could never appreciate his talents. Stefano was hunted, until he found himself in this STEM world – a world of “pure creation.” A world he could shape to suit his own desires. And Lily is the key to unlocking the potential of this world.
And he’s not alone in his endeavors. Born from an untethered and immoral imagination and sculpted from blood and bone and flesh, Obscura is one of Stefano’s greatest masterpieces. Somewhere inside of Obscura is a story from another life, long before Stefano ever even learned of the existence of STEM – a story you’ll have to uncover for yourself as you explore Union and discover more about the twisted artist behind some of the horrors hunting you.
What are your first thoughts on Stefano here for The Evil Within 2 as he stands? Do you think that all of the story elements we have above will be featured in the full game or will it all be footnotes in the game lore that we have to hunt down? Do you think we will see even creepier human monsters in the future or will this be the only one until the game launches? Let everyone out there know what you are thinking down in the comments and then discuss.
