Take Another Look Inside Ourselves For Silent Hill: Ascension

Silent Hill: Ascension — An Inside Look [BTS]

Go behind the scenes for Silent Hill: Ascension with a look at how this new Silent Hill story could be shaped out there

There is still a lot we do not know about Silent Hill: Ascension and just how it will flow out there when it does on the PS5 and PC, but we are back with a little more to try to fill in some details. Details I have a feeling will be filled out during SDCC this year, but that is a future update to write about. Here, though, we get to go behind the scenes of it all with Genvid to see just how they are bringing Silent Hill to life again and try to figure out how this collective narrative will play out. That and if we will ever be able to see a different version of things out there at some point too. It is sounding more and more like it is going to be set in stone and by the masses, sadly.

We will dig into the actual mechanics, as we understand them, in a moment but for starters, we will talk about how they look to be bringing Silent Hill back to life in this experience. The team looks to be using a lot of inspiration from not only the source but some of the amazing designs we have seen in the other forms of the IP. For the crap the Silent Hill films got, they sure did bring us more to enjoy in terms of the visuals. So many things from those films have made their way over into the canon of the IP and have only helped push things forward. Mainly the world shifting and the over-the-top horrors that are out there stalking our characters based on their various traumas.

Dovetailing into that, that is how the narrative for Silent Hill: Ascension seems to be coming about too. Each of the characters lost in this story is bringing along their own trauma and then manifesting it in the world they find themselves in. Some of it is self-inflicted trauma while others are from the horrors humanity places out there in general. Humans are the worst. This all needs to be mentioned, as it not only goes into the creature design for Silent Hill: Ascension, but also makes us feel something for the characters we are going to be guiding along the journey. If we are rooting for them all to die, this is not going to be a fun experience for us all to go through out there. Speaking of…

Face Your Trauma Together.

Redemption, suffering, or damnation? The actions of millions will determine the outcomes of Silent Hill: Ascension. Genvid presents a new interactive series, coming in 2023.

Silent Hill: Ascension follows multiple main characters from locations around the world tormented by new and terrifying Silent Hill monsters. Lurking in the shadows, these monsters threaten to consume people, their children, and entire towns as they’re drawn into the darkness by both recent murders and long-suppressed guilt and fears.

In Silent Hill: Ascension the actions of millions will determine the outcome. By the time the last scene streams, which characters have survived? Will those who are left be redeemed, damned, or suffer? Even the project’s creators do not know how Silent Hill: Ascension will end. Instead, the character’s fates are in the audience’s hands.

This leads me into the actual mechanics of Silent Hill: Ascension that are barely touched on again. This is a narrative that will be driven by all fans watching this experience. Similar to those of any Telltale games or the Black Mirror thing that also took place. Weirdly, this will all still be driven by the masses out there and not by a small group of friends watching along. Meaning, that after each part airs out there, everyone will have a few days to vote on how the story of Silent Hill: Ascension will continue. The team here has much more faith in humanity than I do, as I see this going down a terrible path that many fans will not want. Not to mention, it sounds like this will be a one-and-done experience, so there will never be a way to see how it all plays out. A bold choice to go with and it does have me a bit concerned about how things are going to pan out.

Would you have rather had this Silent Hill located just for yourself and those close to you or will humanity in whole shock us along the way? Will most truly care about these characters or will it always lead to the ultimate demise of them all? How terrible will some of these traumas be and will the team need to place multiple warnings up for it all? Head into the comments and see how the votes are going to sway for this one. We are keeping a close watch on Silent Hill: Ascension and will keep the news and updates coming out as best we can. There is more to come out of SDCC, so please keep on checking in for all of that and much, much more.
