New footage for the System Shock remake has been placed out there and it gives us a good look at how the System Shock remake could look in the end
Development has continued on System Shock’s Remake and we may now be seeing some of the more final assets and designs we could expect when the game comes at us. That may not be until Q1 of next year as that is where Nightdive Studios last placed it, but we have signs of life still and it does look like the game is coming together. There is still a whole lot of time and another System Shock possibly in the works elsewhere, but we will focus on this one here and see just what the team has for us. More the Kickstarter fans as that is what this was originally placed out there for. We are most likely just seeing it a bit after the fact now.
There is nothing too exciting in terms of gameplay here for this version of System Shock as it is just a walkthrough of a few locations. It does show off how good the game could look in the end over its 1994 counterpart. This video also alludes to the fact that these may be some of the final assets we will see in the live game and it is damn impressive. There looks to be a lot of work on the lighting and atmosphere here even if the levels seem a bit basic. There is a whole lot of time for that to be shaped up though. We just get to know how this version of System Shock will be looking and sticking to some of the traditional styles from before. At least as my memory serves.
System Shock — Final Art KS Preview
We wanted to create a small preview of the final art as there was some confusion due to our previous video of the Adventure Alpha containing only placeholders.
Combat is next!
How are you feeling about the look of this System Shock based on the video here? Is this the game you paid into the Kickstarter for or were you looking to see something change drastically with the aesthetic? Do you think that the levels will be about the same that we are seeing here or were these just basic hallways and rooms to show off the art? Let us all know down in the comments and then discuss. I am sure we will have more for System Shock’s Remake in the not too distant future. When we do, we will share it all here for you. All you have to do is keep logging back into the site to stay up to date.
