Settling in for a nice long breakdown for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II now that you know when you will be able to play the game. A game that has utilized larger motion capture space, made every sound in the game binaural, and just tried to make the world that much larger out there. All as we help Senua join her new tribe while trying to stop some of the giants that are in the world too. Not to mention, even though she has come to terms with her psychosis, it is still going to play a large role in the game once more. Although, it does not look like it will have the same effect as it did in Hellblade. You can see the full presentation just below these worlds so you can get the full details while seeing some of the more amazing gameplay that will be coming this May.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II — Game Overview
For Developer_Direct, Ninja Theory invites you to come behind the scenes at our studio in Cambridge to learn about the craft and ambition behind Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is coming to Xbox and PC on May 21, 2024.
One of the aspects of Hellblade that hit me so well was the way that the psychosis Senua has was represented. It felt like it was actually a massive issue and trauma that she had to overcome. Just as many do in the real world. That is what helped sell the game and make it have such an impact on so many. While I understand that it is the goal to overcome and accept it all, it feels wrong to make it seem as if it is closer to a superpower in Hellblade 2. Granted, this is how I have been interpreting how things have been presented and it could function differently in the game, but it just feels like the illness factor has been removed. Like the representation of it all has been shifted to make it seem that those who suffer in the same way can just accept it and then have multiple voices helping out instead. I hope I am wrong, but I guess I will have to wait until May to know for certain.
Are you excited to know when you will get to play Hellblade 2 or are you still sad that it became an exclusive so you will not be able to continue the story? Does it feel like going bigger was the better choice for the team or was the smaller style of it all from before what helped make it the amazing game that it was in the first place? Am I seeing things the wrong way or do you agree that it feels like the mental health aspect has been skewed quite a bit? Head on down to the comment section and join all of the other voices in the discussion. There should be more for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 in the coming months now, so please keep on coming here to see and hear all of those updates as they pop up. Maybe we will even get some clarification on just what is going on with the game.
