More screenshots for the Resident Evil 2 Remake have leaked out there with some old Resident Evil 2 faces and new monsters in the mix
Just when you thought we had a nice chunk of new things for the Resident Evil 2 Remake, we have even more dropped right into our laps again. It looks like as more of those early previews are starting to be written, the assets that Capcom has offered up have also been flowing out there as we have even more screenshots from the. Most of which actually highlights the new features and parts coming to Resident Evil 2 here in the remake that we spoke of before. Things like the playable Sherry and Ada portions of the game and a few new monsters to take on. Not to mention just new looks at some of the classic characters all spruced up for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC for this outing.
Sadly, what did not come along with all of these new screenshots was any more information for Resident Evil 2. Granted, there was not much more than the other invited outlets have spoken of as of yet, but all we have are new visuals to look at and make heads and tails of for the game. That is not something we can knock too hard here as we will take what we can for now. Have a look at everything down below and also read up on the new features we learned about on the last update for Resident Evil 2. It is definitely impressive and worth a second read.
Resident Evil 2 Hands-On Preview Undead And Loving It
New Creature
Resident Evil is, and always should be, shlock horror and that’s certainly how it’s presented in terms of gameplay. From the gun shop Leon makes his way to the sewers and an encounter with both a giant alligator and a new creature that looks like a mini-William Birkin with the same sort of grotesque mutated eye.
Playable Ada
Capcom has already said that the majority of the game will follow the same design, including enemies, as the original, but there’s a clear attempt to try and make things slightly more… if not realistic, then at least plausible. At this point you switch control to Ada, who we’re appalled to find out, after emptying half a dozen bullets into a zombie’s face, is armed with a useless little peashooter that’s only good for staggering them for a second.
Mr. X
Mr. X is incredibly slow but the best you can hope to do is make him pause for a few seconds, and even that takes so much ammo it’s not really worth it. Instead you’re left to deal with the fact that he’s constantly following you, his heavy footsteps always audible, and if you get yourself stuck in a dead end you’re in serious trouble.
Playable Sherry
Our demo ends when we find all the electronic parts and the game switches to a cut scene showing Sherry’s captor (we’re trying not to spoil things if you don’t know who it is). This is apparently a brand new playable section, not in the original game, where you get to play as Sherry in an area called the Orphanage. But we’re only allowed a second’s glimpse before the controls are wrestled away from us.
Are you further excited for the Resident Evil 2 Remake after seeing all of these or will you need more context before you get to that point? What do you think of the new monster we have to see here in the game and how do you think it will play into everything? How are you feeling about the look and feel of the Sherry gameplay and do you see it being different than we have seen in other versions of the franchise? Let us all know down in the comments and then discuss. When we find more for this Resident Evil 2 Remake, we will share it all here. All you have to do is keep dropping on by so you do not miss out on a single thing.
