Metro Exodus Gets More Photogenic With Photo Mode

Metro Exodus — Photo Mode

It was announced that Metro Exodus will be getting a Photo Mode at launch so players can tell their own Metro stories to the world

Add Metro Exodus to the growing list of games out there that have a built-in Photo Mode now. It looks like this outing will have it after many gamers out there asked 4A Games to include it in the franchise for some time now. That is at least the reason we have been given as I was not aware of the Metro community begging for this, but I am not all-knowing so it could be true. Just like the fact that this feature will be shipping on day one when the game hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15th. It will most likely be a patch, but at least it will be an option from the start and for those who want it.

More or less this is an announcement for those playing Metro Exodus on the consoles as PC gamers will already have access to the same support via Ansel already. There are also no specifics as to what the Photo Mode will allow to be controlled, but I am going to guess it will be on par with that as well. It would seem odd to try to push this out there for Metro Exodus if there is a better option already there. At least for the PC Gamers out there. I still see this as more of a console gamer’s treat and the PC gamers just get the added bonus. Either way, Photo Mode is coming to the game now.

Deep Silver and 4A Games today confirmed that Metro Exodus will feature a Photo Mode, available from day of release on the 15 February for Xbox One, the all-in one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, and PC.

“Photo Mode has been one of the most requested features from the Metro community,” said Jon Bloch, Executive Producer at 4A Games. “They’re relatively rare in 1st person shooters, but the team have been determined to make it work and give Metro fans the opportunity to capture their own stories from the Russian wastelands.”

Photo Mode will be available for all platforms, while PC players will additionally benefit from support for Ansel, NVIDIA’s proprietary screenshot capture software.

Were you actively hoping for Photo Mode to come to Metro Exodus or is it something to just further hype for the game? Do you think that we will get the same toolset as the other program there or will it be its own true beast for us to play with? Will you be looking to take photos in your FPS game in general or is this just extra fluff a select few asked for? Give us your thoughts on all of this down in the comments and then discuss. There is a whole lot more for Metro Exodus coming out this week and we will have it all here for you. Just keep coming on back to see it all as it drops.
