A new mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is on its way after being teased about for Uncharted 4 way back in May of this year
You may or may not remember back in May when Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End released that we also were given a simple timeline for when some of the multiplayer and other DLC would be launching for the game. One said mode was the co-op survival mode that was popular in the other titles that Naughty Dog gave us. Time being as it is though, at least it was for me, many forgot that this was supposed to be coming to Uncharted 4 and have moved on to other titles out there. Not that this PS4 title wasn’t an amazing addition but it is some time to have to wait when there are many other games out there. None the less, we have an update on Survival Mode and just when we will be able to see it.
In Survival Mode we will be able to team up with two other players or friends and take on a series of 50 waves over 10 different maps. Each wave giving us craftier enemies and challenges to deal with as we try and rank up and gain more Uncharted 4 currency; just in case you needed more by now. Of course that isn’t just it though as there have been a few other addition and changes mixed in to make this not just another mode brought back from the past. Why would we expect anything other than that? We wouldn’t and now we get to see this mode bring us more fun and boss fights every ten waves with each based on characters from the core game. Okay, that sounds about right there but we’ll move right along.
While we will have many enemies in each wave with a varying degree of difficulty, we will also have some other style of missions and “curve-balls” thrown in to make sure we don’t get too complacent. Some of the descriptions for those would be that special rules get applied that only pistol, head shots, or melee combat being the only way to deal damage to enemies. Again, pretty standard of a way to keep things feeling new and flowing but that’s just how I read it. Hopefully those who are able to make PSX next week will get a better grasp on this mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and then we get more before its mid-December release. Video games don’t always die after launch now and here is a bit more proof.
Uncharted 4 — Survival Mode
Across 50 waves and 10 maps, you’ll face off against Shoreline mercenaries, heavily armored Brutes, Snipers, Hunters, and more that will only get more precise, more aggressive, and better equipped as time goes on. Every 10 waves culminates in an intense boss battle, including our all-new Pirate Warlords. Inspired by the story of Uncharted 4, some of the Founders of Libertalia have arrived to hunt you down with powerful Mystical attacks. Don’t miss Adam Baldridge himself as the Djinn-wielding Warlord boss in the video above.
Are you excited to finally see Survival Mode come to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End or has it been too long of a wait for you? What other great changes do you think we will see at launch or down the road? Will you be lining up to give this mode a chance at PSX next week or will newer things be grabbing you attentions? Let us know your thoughts on it all down in the comments and discuss. For more on this and anything else for Uncharted 4, if there is, we will have it here. Be sure to keep checking back in as you won’t want to miss out on a thing as time goes on.
