Dead Or Alive, The Gameplay Is Finally Here For Robocop: Rogue City

Robocop: Rogue City — Gameplay

The gameplay for Robocop: Rogue City is finally here with the news that the famed Robocop actor will be back to voice the role

It was almost a year ago to the day that we had the first announcement for Robocop: Rogue City and now we are back with the first real gameplay for the game. If you remember, Teyon and NACON only gave us all a nice CG trailer to let us know the game was coming but nothing in terms of what to expect at all. Hells, we did not even know the platforms it was going to hit. Now we know that Robocop: Rogue City will be here in June of 2023 and landing on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. It will also certainly be a first-person shooter that will give us all of that 80s nostalgia along the way. Not in terms of the graphics of the game but the setting and feel of everything will do a perfect job of all of that now.

Most of the gameplay here feels like a fairly standard affair when it comes to a first-person title out there. That is not a terrible thing, but something worth noting, as there is nothing being the setting that makes it truly stand out here. That is where I think Robocop: Rogue City is going to lean into things, though. Not only have they nailed that classic look from the original films, but it sounds as if Peter Weller is coming back to give us all of that Robocop we have had over the decades. Those that only have the most recent film as a point of reference may not understand what it is all about, but this is the voice that started it all for us. Now we know we will hear the classic “Dead Or Alive, You’re Coming With Me” line uttered in the ways most of our memories remember it all. Have a gander at it all just a bit lower down now.

Robocop: Rogue City — Gameplay

Welcome to Detroit; crime runs rampant as the city lies on the edge of ruin, people fighting for scraps as others live extravagant lives of luxury. Control of the Detroit Police Department is given to the Omni Consumer Products corporation in an attempt to restore order. You are that solution, RoboCop, a cyborg tasked with protecting the city.

The triumphant return of RoboCop wouldn’t feel right without the man who brought so much life into the role, and we’re excited to reveal that Peter Weller will be performing voiceover work on the game. Enjoy this first look at gameplay and for the record, “dead or alive, you’re coming with me!”

Robocop: Rogue City will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in June 2023.

Are you at all surprised that we are getting a first-person shooter with Robocop slapped on or did you think they were going to go down a different path? Do you only remember Peter Weller as the voice or will you be confused only knowing the most recent film as your point of reference? Do you think that we will see anything from the modern version of the IP or will it all be the classics that the older generation loves to see? Tell us all your thoughts on this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. When we have more to share for Robocop: Rogue City, you know it will all be here. Please keep checking back in for all of that and much, much more.
