Cyberpunk 2077 Is Hit With A Five-Month Delay Now

Another delay is here and for Cyberpunk 2077 with us all having to wait until September to play Cyberpunk 2077 now

Well, this just seems like it is the week of delays as we have one more to announce as it looks like Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer be making that April 16th release date anymore. Given that we have had a few other massive titles delays until that point, I guess it will be less of a sting and thus allow for CD Projekt RED to get the work done and done right so none of us are let down. It also pads the time for them to do more crazy stunts as we saw during E3 last year to get us all even further hyped up for Cyberpunk 2077. More so as the game is no launching on September 17th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Yeah, this is another one of those massive delays out there as it will be five more months of waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 to finally land on us all. All with the same reasons given with a bit more context to it all. There is the generic ‘polish’ mixed in there, but it looks like the team is going to be taking their time to playtest more of Night City to make sure everything flows just as we expect it to and to make sure all of the stories and missions mix together in a proper way. Given how the team has worked in the past, it was never a doubt that would be the case for Cyberpunk 2077, but it does look like they were doubting it and opted to take more time to perfect it. There is a whole lot riding on this one for them and we all know how the harsher members of the community would handle it there was even one flaw here.

We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done. Night City is massive — full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect. Expect more regular updates on progress as we get closer to the new release date. We’re really looking forward to seeing you in Night City, thank you for your ongoing support!

Did you expect to see that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be hit with delays here or is it something we are going to see happen to many more titles this year? Do you think this could be in part with the team trying to make sure the game works on the next-gen consoles too? Do you even care and just want to make sure you have the best version of the game possible and will wait as long as needed? Let us and then world know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. There is supposed to be a whole lot more for Cyberpunk 2077, and when we have it to share, we will share it here. Be sure to keep checking in for all of that as we head off toward the new date.
