Ok, so I was lucky enough to receive a Call of Duty 5 beta invite!!!! (aka I
just joined the COD website a few days before the beta opening) There isn’t too
much to say about Call of Duty 5, it’s basically just Call of Duty 4 with a
different look… errr era. In the beta you get to play 3 maps multi-player,
Roundhouse, Castle, and Makin. All 3 maps are awesome. Castle is alright, it’s
pretty much just a Japanese castle that has quite a few buildings to run
throughout, and it looks pretty. Roundhouse is the most chaotic, it’s a
biiiiiiiig map with a ton of junk thrown throughout it, with a couple of trains
and buildings in it also, oh and did I mention there are two tanks that spawn which
players can control? Yeah, Roundhouse totally rules. My favorite of the 3 is
Makin, it’s on a Japanese coastline and you fight throughout a bunch of tiny
little huts and sniper towers, trees, and in the water. I love it, it’s a
sniper haven but at the same time all the little huts provide close quarters
for infantry combat.
In Call of Duty 4, I hated helicopters… I could call in 2 helicopters a
game but still hate that an enemy called in just 1. Well helicopters are no
longer in COD5, but don’t worry, now when you reach an 7 kill streak you
release a god damn ARMY of dogs, I’m talking 15-25 dogs (I really don’t know
how many) that go around attacking enemy players and they’re a bitch to fight
off in groups. The airstrike was replaced with artillery strike which is really
nice, it sounds off a siren when you call it in (uber cool) & it looks
sweet when it hits… but it’s really inaccurate, which I feel it should be.
The guns are frickin sweet, anyone who is down with guns, or just WWII
weaponry will splooge when they play COD5… tons of guns to pick from with
upgrades & all.
Loved the COD4 ranking system? Don’t worry, Treyarch totally ripped off the
ranking system from COD4 (just like everything else… even the controls!).
There are 65 ranks, I don’t know how many Prestige’s there are, but you rank up
REALLY quickly. I will be picking this game up, it’s really good. If you LOVED
COD4 like me then you will love COD5, it is just a massive expansion pack in my
eyes.
