Blood Bowl 3 Is Going To Be Using A New Season System For It Future Content

Blood Bowl 3 — New Season System

A new system is here for Blood Bowl 3 that will shake up how the new factions and extras will come in for the Blood Bowl IP

There is still a few more months before Blood Bowl 3 launches, that is still February 23rd for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Thankfully, this is not an update where Cyanide is pushing the game out further but an update on how they will keep it going well after the launch. Not specifically through a season pass of sorts but a new season system that the Blood Bowl IP has yet to see. A new system that is going to make some of you happy and others question things a little bit here. Especially since some of it is going to be paid and others available for free… if you are going to put the work into it all.

This new system coming for Blood Bowl 3 is going to be both paid and free and coming every few months after the launch. Each will have new features, cosmetics, and factions to experience out there. All of these can be unlocked by just playing the game but for those that are not willing to wait, there is the paid option that will unlock most of the content instantly. It is not pay to win, but a way for Blood Bowl 3 to get monetized after launch. More or less, it is the same system that many of the freemium games out there use to milk users for money. I am not a fan of this format in general, but I know many that will be glad to see a whole lot coming and that they can potentially get things for free. The fact that it is all just generalized right now, though, is the part that makes me weary about how easy it will be to grind all of that out.

Blood Bowl 3 — New Season System

A new era of fantasy football begins with Blood Bowl 3!

This new adaptation, which introduces the rules and features of the latest edition of the board game, will offer Blood Bowl players a season system for the first time.

This format allows for more competitive play, in addition to offering new content in the form of a battle pass.

Gautier Brésard and Clément Nicolin, respectively Project Manager and Product Manager of Blood Bowl 3, explain in the video the principle of this Blood Pass.

Blood Bowl 3 will release on PC through the Epic Games Store and Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 23rd, 2023.

What are your thoughts on this new system or should the team just stick with the way things worked in Blood Bowl up to now? How hard is it going to be to grind up the list to finally get to that new faction and will it be made just easier to throw money at the problem instead? How many seasons do you suspect that they will get through before they have to move on to other things? Feel free to tell us all of your thoughts about this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. We will have more for Blood Bowl 3 here on the site, so please keep checking in for all of that and much, much more.
