The story of Avatar continues with a new portion of the story out here for the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora
Get ready to take in a bit more for Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora, as we have more to the story than we had before. Well, at least, a little bit more to the story that Ubisoft wanted to give us during the latest PlayStation Showcase. Story and a bit more of the gameplay so we can see how this all might build further into the overall narrative of Avatar when the game lands on December 7th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Although, you might be more impressed with the gameplay than the story of it all at this point…
We have had tidbits of it before, but this Avatar story will have us playing as a Na’vi who was kidnapped fifteen years before the events of the game and used to run tests on. It does not look like they were overly painful tests for the specific Na’vi but tests that allowed for the RDA to advance their tech and abilities to travel around Pandora. Now, we must reconnect with the Na’vi we did not get to know while also being the savior that can bridge both sides of the fight. At least when it comes to the weapons, gear, and tactics. Something that feels similar to the first Avatar story we had. We are just not a specific “white savior” this time around.
Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora — Story
Become Na’vi and explore the Western Frontier in Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora. You’ll play as a child of two worlds, born Na’vi but raised by the RDA. Fifteen years after your abduction, you are free, and must reconnect with your lost heritage. Meet new Na’vi clans, learn their ways, and join them to protect Pandora from the RDA.
Set after the events of the first Avatar film, you’ll embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen continent of Pandora, as you join other Na’vi clans to protect Pandora from the formidable forces of the RDA. Created in collaboration with Disney and James Cameron’s production company, Lightstorm Entertainment, you will experience a first-person open-world action-adventure game exclusively developed to maximize the power of new-gen consoles and PC.
While the story of Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora feels like it is a bit of a rehash of a story already told, the gameplay does look to be a little fresher than that. Almost like a mix of Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry when first look at it. We will be running, gunning, and jumping onto all kinds of beasts for transportation around the game’s map. Heading out to help the Na’vi that are being brought down by the RDA mechs and mercs. It is unclear why they were having such a hard time when a one-Na’vi-army can run in and handle things now. Maybe that is what will truly be explored in the story when the game launches.
Are you getting the same feeling as I am when it comes to the story of this Avatar title? Will there be a good reason that we can handle it all on our own when full tribes cannot or will that just be part of making the gameplay exciting for us all? Will there be more to the story than us being the lone savior again just with blue skin the whole time? Head into the comments to discuss it all and let the world know your thoughts. We will have more to share for Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora as we get it, so please keep on checking in for all of those updates and more.
