Assassin’s Creed Origins Will Also Be Taking Us On A Tour Of Discovery

Assassin’s Creed Origins — Discovery Tour

A new mode for Assassin’s Creed Origins has been detailed out and it looks to do what many have wanted Assassin’s Creed to do for a while

It looks like a new mode of “gameplay” is coming to us for Assassin’s Creed Origins and this one seems to be right up the alley of something I have heard many gamers wanting in the franchise. As it looks here, Ubisoft is adding in a mode called Discovery Tour that we can all experience when the game launches on October 27th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. But that is just the name, but what exactly is this Discovery Tour for Assassin’s Creed Origins? The short answer is that it removes out the combat from the game so you can look and explore the world. The short answer, of course, is not always the best here though.

The longer answer is that it does let you tour around the Assassin’s Creed Origins world without all of the minutia of combat and treat of death at every turn, and it also gives you locations to travel to where you can actually learn some of the history of the areas, practices, and culture the game is based on. Yes, this is an educational mode for the Assassin’s Creed title and it will be filled with all kinds of information from many scholars and historians so you can say you actually learned something from the game. Is that not a fun new feature to have in your game? Well, of course it is as it could also get gamers a bit more educated through the fun of murdering people in history. Awesome.

Assassin’s Creed Origins — Discovery Tour Shows A Different Side Of Ancient Egypt

“This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, that we’ve been asked to do by teachers, by institutions,” says Jean Guesdon, creative director for Assassin’s Creed Origins. “Discovery Tour is another way to enjoy the beauty of the world we’ve recreated. It’s a more educative mode, so it’s clearly focused on education and on bringing to people actual facts, more academic knowledge.”

“When you start to tour, you will have a path that will lead you from station to station, in order to learn more,” Guesdon says. “For example, the mummification process, from the cleaning of the body to the removal of the organs, up to the ritual of the opening of the mouth. I hope that teachers will seize this opportunity to present that to their students, so they can learn with this interactive medium.

“We spent years recreating Ancient Egypt, documenting ourselves, validating the content with historians, with consultants, and we feel that many more people than just the players can benefit from that,” says Guesdon.

All joking aside, this new mode for Assassin’s Creed Origins sounds like a fun and great thing to give us a distraction from the core game itself. Given that there will be specific locations and markers to travel to, it may also give us our own fun of traversing it all just to get to the next little tidbit or history lesson. If only this mode did not sound like it was here for those gamers out there who are too young to actually be playing this game according to the ratings board we all place so much faith in. I guess if they are going to skirt the rules, they may as well learn something. Right Ubisoft?

Building off of all of this new excitement for the new mode in Assassin’s Creed Origins, there has also been another fun Q&A session with part of the Narration team where we get a few more questions answered about the Order Of The Ancients. Not too much as some of the community questions that were asked are greatly tied to the actual story and they want us to reveal all of that in game. It does sound like they are only focused in through one of the three major players in Assassin’s Creed Origins though, but this can change at any time given who they are and what they want out of the world. Besides the whole domination thing and such.
