The next survivor for Dead By Daylight is on the way with a few other updates coming to Dead By Daylight along the way
It feels like it is about that time that we had a new Survivor in the mix for Dead By Daylight and this time it is a new one just for the IP. Maybe Behaviour has slowed down the crossover characters for a bit longer now, but this is a great thing as we have a wholly new character entering the Fog and helping us all survive just a bit longer. Not that the others in Dead By Daylight do not do the same, but none of them seem to be EMTs who are fully trained for all of this. So, get ready to see this new character below and then again when they join the ranks of the game on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC this coming May 6th. Just a few days from now…
Our new Survivor for Dead By Daylight is named Orela Rose and, as described, is an EMT that somehow ended up in the Fog. Being an EMT, and with a bit of a past, Orela holds some solid perks that will truly help out as a Support character. Like the fact that healing is fast for Orela, while doing so, damage is reduced a bit while protecting others, and Orela will bring along a bunch of critical information that can be used in the match. Something that could play into the other change coming for Dead By Daylight, with The Archives and Challenges becoming The Rift and Quests, respectively. They will still function mostly the same, but instead of players needing to select them before play, they will be active right away so which can speed up some of the grind that goes down. Having a Lore Hound who can keep you alive longer feels like that will only speed things up even more.
Dead By Daylight — Steady Pulse
In her life as an EMT, Orela Rose dedicated herself to being the light that pulled patients through their darkest moments. High-stakes rescues, gruesome injuries, and screams of pain were simply another day on the job. Now, lost within The Entity’s Trials, her skills and resolve will be put to the test like never before. Available now, via the Steam public test build, and officially releasing on May 6, Dead By Daylight: Steady Pulse introduces Orela Rose as the game’s latest Survivor.
Grace Under Fire
A truly altruistic Survivor with a Perk set to match, Orela represents a calming presence amidst the chaos; mending wounds, helping teammates stay one step ahead of danger, and even standing between them and certain death.
Driven by the memory of her best friend Emily who was fatally electrocuted while performing at an interactive Haunted House, Orela left her studies to pursue a new career as an EMT. With a singular ability to provide comfort and care to those in need, she quickly realized she had found her calling.
After saving the life of a billionaire who gratefully funded her and Emily’s one-time dream project, she launched the thematic dining experience, Screams in the Dark. Despite her success, Orela never forgot her friend, honoring her memory by answering every cry for help that she could… until one day she followed those same cries into The Fog.
More than a healer, Orela is the ideal support Survivor. Should her teammates need her, she’s ready to save lives – or die trying. She boasts a Perk set that allows her to heal with great speed the higher the stakes, take protection hits to ensure the safety of others, and risk life and limb to provide her team with critical information.
Archives Evolved
Dead By Daylight’s Archives have been around since 2019, offering players countless opportunities to challenge themselves while unlocking rewards, Outfits, and lore in the process. Accompanying the release of Steady Pulse, The Archives will undergo an overhaul, creating a better, more streamlined experience for those seeking more.
Moving forward, The Archives will be referred to as The Rift, and the Challenges within will be called Quests. Unlike Challenges, players will no longer have to select Quests before jumping into a Trial, with all Quest types (Daily, Weekly, Milestone, and Event) being active at the same time, making it faster and easier to earn rewards and power through The Rift. Players will even have the chance to “pin” specific Quests allowing them to be tracked mid-Trial with a simple click of the pause button.
Dead By Daylight: Steady Pulse is currently available as part of the Steam public test build. It releases officially on May 6.
