Now, we will get to see how this all pans out when Astrumis: Survive Together launches on May 26th via Steam. Now that we have the when, let us dig into the what you will be doing in the game…

To get us all ready for May 26th, we have a bit of a look at Astrumis: Survive Together a little lower so we can see how this co-op game will play out. Each player in the game will take on the role of Mission Control or the lone survivor on the ship. Both are going to need to work together to get off the ship and survive the monsters lurking about. The twist to it all being, the Survivor cannot see the aliens but can move about, while Mission Control stays stationary but can spot the creatures on the various screens about. This is where communication will be key in Astrumis so the team can solve the puzzles, finish the mini-games, and escape the thing that is hunting them both down. A solid little twist to both genres of games that were mentioned above, indeed. Have a look and see how some of that will be playing out once the game fully launches into the world.

Astrumis: Survive Together — Release Date

Solo indie developer Tyci is excited to announce that his debut title, Astrumis: Survive Together, will launch on Steam on May 26th. A playtest is now open for sign-ups, and a demo is also available. Inspired by games like Split Fiction and Alien: Isolation, Astrumis presents a new Sci-fi twist to the co-op genre. Players must solve puzzles, complete co-op minigames, and communicate under pressure to escape from a mysterious, invisible predator.

Uncover Project A.S.T.R.U.M.I.S.

In space, one thing is certain: you are never truly alone. The site of a secret alien mutation experiment, Project A.S.T.R.U.M.I.S., has failed. An invisible creature, undetectable to the human eye, now lurks in the very spaceship that once brought it to life. Only you and one other survivor remain. Trust your partner, solve the ship’s secrets, and fight to return home safely.

Two Roles, One Goal

Two heads are better than one. Get ready to experience a two-player campaign where you and a friend’s survival depends on your ability to work together as a team. One player takes on the role of John Kowalski, the Survivor, who explores the ship’s corridors, reroutes power, and hacks into control systems in real-time. Meanwhile, the other player takes the role of Yang Sungbin, the Mission Control Operator, who can view the ship’s layout and use surveillance footage to monitor the alien’s movements to guide their partner to safety. Never leave a friend behind! Players must rely on one another to overcome time-sensitive challenges, environmental obstacles, and utilize hiding spots to remain undetected.

Work Together, Escape Together

Astrumis offers a story-driven journey filled with tension, cinematic cutscenes, and fully voice-acted dialogue across nine levels. From the airlock to your escape pod, each level introduces new survival mechanics and challenges that test your coordination. Encounter various scenarios, including levels with limited visibility, gravity-defying sequences, and many more challenging mechanics. Always expect the unexpected—plans may fall apart, systems may malfunction, and the creature is always one step behind you. As you progress, former survival and mini-game mechanics will recur, challenging your team’s skill retention along every step of the way.

What will stop someone from being able to play both sides of the game at the same time or will it not allow for a local split-screen during live play? Do games like this truly work out there or am I part of the minority that always has trouble finding others who want to play a game like this? Team up in the comment section and then discuss it all until the game fully launches out there.
