Dreadmoor Will Be Taking Us All On A Horrifying Fishing Trip

Dreadmoor — Official Reveal

Another Lovecraftian title, Dreadmoor, is on the way to us all with Dreadmoor adding in a few different gameplay elements these horror games do not usually have

It looks like we will be setting sail into another horror experience with the recently announced Dreadmoor heading out there for the PC. This is another in the line of Lovecraft titles that are going up on Steam, with this one coming from Dream Dock and offering up a few little things that we do not normally get in these kinds of first-person adventure titles. We get the crafting, the exploration, the existential dread that comes with the setting, but in Dreadmoor we are also going to be getting some fishing in the mix. It makes sense with all of the ocean creature aesthetics that go on in the genre of horror out there. Though, I am failing to think of another title in the genre that leans into that bit of gameplay more than just a nice little break to the insanity.

Okay, that is not the core mechanic of Dreadmoor, but it is interesting to see someone leaning into all of that as we gear up our little fishing trawler to head out into the world. We will also need to go a bit of the deep sea exploring and fighting off monstrosities in some of the submerged lands out there too. All so we can get the best fish, sell them, and then craft better tools and upgrades for our boat to keep on doing it. Not that any sane person would want to keep on doing that, but Dreadmoor needs to have some gameplay reasons for us to come back and look at all of the stylized visuals and explore the dark deeps out there. If that all sounds interesting to you, then you can swim on down to the reveal video we have for the game to see just how this one will flow out there once it is fully ready for its final launch and voyage.

Dreadmoor — Official Reveal

Dreadmoor is an atmospheric first-person adventure that combines fishing, exploration, crafting, inventory management, and monster battles in a dark and dangerous world.

Take the helm of a fishing trawler and go to a world full of submerged islands and ruins of a forgotten civilization. You have a long, challenging journey across the Submerged Land. Catch fish, sell your yield to survivors, upgrade your ship, build equipment, and manage your inventory. Be ready to fight back against mutated creatures, beware of radiation, and remember: you cannot trust anyone, someone is after more than just your yield…

More than 100 species of dangerous and rare prey await you. Search for the best fishing spots, experiment with baits, and compete with nature. Sort your yield and keep an eye on the hold – sea creatures do not mind eating each other! The deeper and more dangerous the creature is, the higher the price is given by the mysterious traders who keep their secrets…

Look for valuable resources: simple scrap metal or old blueprints can be worth their weight in gold in the Submerged Land. Explore abandoned buildings, caves, and shipwrecks to look for useful finds.

The stuff you collect can be used to make baits, harpoons, rare medicines, and more. Who knows how many more useful items you can find and recreate?

The world is teeming with mutated creatures born of radiation and darkness. Be prepared for encounters with monsters – both on water and land. Every mission can turn into a lethal hunt.

How do you feel about the fun little twist we have here for Dreadmoor and did you think it was only a matter of time before that happened? Will there be a point where our captain has had enough, only to find out that there is not going to be much of an escape from the horrors? How many different submerged lands will we need to swim through in this title and will they all feel vastly different from each other? Sail on down to the comment section to release all of those thoughts into the world and then discuss them all. We will keep some eyes on Dreadmoor as the development continues, so please keep your eyes on the site here for that. We have many other things on the way out there too, so do not miss out on that by following all of our social accounts to get the updates as you so desire.
