It has just been reported that Batman: Return To Arkham has been delayed with now release date in sight for when we’ll Return To Arkham in this collection
Back in May we were given a nice little surprise that we were getting a Batman: Return To Arkham bundle. This was a HD remaster of the other two Rocksteady Games titles that never made it to the PS4 and Xbox One. Not only that but the announcement came that Warner Bros. was going to give us this Return To Arkham bundle on July 26th. Just about a month away from now for those doing the math. There was excitement in the air and a lot of rejoicing given the Batman Arkham VR experience that was also announced here too. Now it is time for some sad news about all of that…
I hope you didn’t have your heart completely set on Batman: Return To Arkham as it has been delayed until…well…it’s just been delayed. No new release date for the bundle has been given but things don’t seem to be going well for the games given that this delay came only a month before release and there is no new date given. Especially when the reason for said delay is all about polishing up the game to make it the experience we’ve had before; but better. This all seems akin to what happened to Batman: Arkham Knight for the PC if memory serves; again not a good thing if we are making those comparisons now.

Batman: Return To Arkham Release Update Message
After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return To Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.
If you couldn’t tell from above all of this news about this delay came from the official forum boards for Batman: Return To Arkham. Kind of a small announcement in a hidden section of the web for something that was this anticipated and wanted; it all seems like they wanted it to go unnoticed and it almost did. But now you know that you can cancel your pre-order for it or just know why when you try to pick it up you will get a frown and set on your way. Hopefully the delay won’t be as long as the PC version of Arkham Knight and it will actually come and not be a huge disaster.
For those just hearing about the Batman: Return To Arkham bundle, it was supposed to house fully rebuilt versions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City with all of the DLC that ever came with both titles. Both of them were being remastered using the Unreal 4 engine with all of its extra features as both were crafted on the Unreal 3 engine back when they first came out. Also this way a fan could have all three of the main titles on one console of their choice and not have to break up the play between multiple platforms.
Are you shocked by the delay of Batman: Return To Arkham here given all of the other stuff going on in the franchise? When do you think we will actually see the bundle release? Did you pre-order the bundle and now will be cancelling it or will you be holding out hope? Let us know and feel free to discuss in the comments below. As we get further updates on the Return To Arkham bundle we will have them here for you. Hopefully it will all be good news going forward but none the less we will have it here so be sure to stay glued to the site for those updates.
