11 signs you’re no longer a hard-core gamer
So I was running around with my head cut off, like a chicken, when I lost my favorite site over the weekend. During such, ran across this and was considering whether or not to post something about it. The comedian in me finally got the better of me and I went ahead with it. As is obvious since you are, hopefully, reading through this. There will be an exam on it to check to see who is reading these things.
But I digest. 🙂
This was a list that was posted on techradar.com. Personally I think it is a huge joke, because some of them scream hard core gamer and others mean that you have no care over fanboyism. Yes I used a made up word. Lets go over a few that will be seen in the list below, or off the link at the bottom where you can see them all and such.
Being the oldest person trading in games and remembering the “golden age” of gaming means you’ve been in it for the long haul and still going. My personal feelings about it. Mainly cause I can be seen going into all kinds of game stores that are filled with 14 year olds trying to purchase a game with saved up change. No I’m not joking, this happened to me a few days ago. 20 minutes to count out $40 in change to by a used game. But this isn’t what the rant or writing is about today. So moving on.
Also would like to say that playing against an AI can be more challenging than playing against a human. Some are much smarter and don’t get pissed when you PWN them. I think I’ll stop playing games when the AI gets pissed and calls you all kinds of things that make a sailor blush because you could out smart the computer. Just my opinion. I also think that not being a fan boy and liking all consoles the same makes you much more hardcore than not. Their excuse is that you are more mature and can afford them. Meh, makes no sense to me.
One more note on the only playing when your girlfriend is out. First, should be changed to boy/girl friend to cover more. 🙂 Also, everyone does this. Not having a SO means that they are just gone for an extended time. So it is like that all the time for all gamers.
Yes, I took a very lighthearted look at this. Enjoy.
