With Secret Of Mana getting a full remake here, it would make sense that other things besides the visuals would be getting touched on and updated too. At least if memory serves it looks like it is being touched here, but it has been a while since I played the original Secret Of Mana so I could be off. Nonetheless, here we go with a look at some actual gameplay for the game and not some put together trailer to only show off the new character builds and the 3D world we will be running around in.

Have a look at the latest gameplay for Secret Of Mana here and then hop on down for a few more words if you care to see what is thought on all of this. Do enjoy.

Secret Of Mana — Remake Gameplay

Embark on an action-packed, worldwide adventure in the 3D remastered version of Secret Of Mana. Take on the role of Randi, a young boy tasked with reviving the magical power of Mana.

The battle for Mana includes many tumultuous encounters along the way; armed with the Mana Sword and joined by his two companions Primm and Popoi, Randi leads the epic quest to battle the treacherous empire as it tries to gain control of Mana.

In order to defeat the forces of evil, Randi, Primm, and Popoi must befriend the eight elementals who hold the power that comprises Mana. The legacy of Mana returns as the brave warriors set forth to bring balance back to the world.

The memorable adventure of Randi, Primm and Popoi is reborn in Secret Of Mana!

Alright, so it looks like Square Enix is keeping the combat for Secret Of Mana about the same, but it looks to be very “loose” at this point. This could be that this is an early look at it all, but it does look like things happen slower on the damaging side than the actual animation side of things. It also looks like there is some weird time gap between a hit and being able to do it again. I am not talking about the character gage aspect either. Maybe it is just me, but it looks like combat here is a bit on the slow and broken side for a real-time kind of thing. It also bothers me that the player is either not switching between characters as needed here or just cannot. Either way, this does not look all that great for Secret Of Mana here in the remake. Time to hope it is all just the early stuff and how the player was going about it.

What do you think about this new gameplay for Secret Of Mana though? Does it look off to you as well or is it just how you always pictured it would be when going into a 3D world? Could this all be based on an early view of the gameplay and Square Enix will improve it all over time? Let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. For more on this Secret Of Mana remake, keep checking in here. We will keep the gameplay coming and keep hoping for it to all get vastly improved over time.
