The release date for Batman: The Enemy Within’s second episode has been set and it looks like another big Batman villain is joining in on the fun
The first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within did an amazing job of bringing the story back to us and it looks like that will all continue on in very short order. Well, at least short order compared to other titles from Telltale Games that may take more than a few months to get out there. However, here we go with the second episode of Batman: The Enemy Within launching on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile device on September 26th. Just slightly over a month from now and a few weeks more than that since we last had a chance to dive into Gotham and try to save the day.
The next episode of the season has been set down as The Pact and as many guessed, it will dive into the villains from Batman‘s history that have banded together to continue what was started in the first episode. The only weird part to it all, it looks like Harley Quinn is showing up in this episode even though The Joker still hasn’t been fully formed as of yet in any of the story. We could have been led to believe that so far, but it could also be that Telltale is doing another huge deviation from the cannon and leaving us with the choice on how John Doe changes and grows over the course of the season.
Episode two of Batman: The Enemy Within will be available for download starting September 26th. The second of five episodes, ‘The Pact’ launches September 26th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Additionally, both episodes one and two will become available on iOS and Android-based devices that same day.
We’re also happy to confirm that, yes, Harley Quinn will debut in episode two. In keeping with our efforts to create our own unique take on the Batman canon, we’ve worked hard to craft an interpretation of the character that captures her essential qualities while still framing her in a new way. The power dynamic between Harley and ‘John Doe’ should prove especially…intriguing.
I knew it was only a matter of time before Telltale Games brought Harley into the mix for their Batman games, but I was hoping that this was going to be a season of character and background growth for The Joker. It is still possible, but the screen above definitely makes it seem like she is in charge and has already undergone the “reprogramming” we have seen from her in the many other forms. It would be interesting to see a full story on how she was the one that “warped” The Joker but that could take Batman: The Enemy Within down a completely different path than it is already on. I guess we will see soon though.
Are you ready for episode two of Batman: The Enemy Within or are you okay with the extra month of waiting we have now? What do you think of the looks we have for the characters in this next episode? Do you think that Telltale could be turning the lore upside-down as it did before or is all of this just posturing for The Joker being the true mastermind behind everything from day one? Let everyone know what you are thinking down in the comments and then discuss. If we learn more for Batman: The Enemy Within, we will have it here. Keep checking in on the site to see what new things have been figured out or shown off.
