A new patch for Horizon Zero Dawn has just been released and it brings Horizon Zero Dawn new difficulty levels, face paint, and New Game+
Horizon Zero Dawn has been out for a bit now and a lot of gamers have enjoyed it, myself included. Given how games go now, even after launch they are a changing beast and ever growing into what the developers had in mind from the start and just couldn’t get it in before needing to go live and actually make their money back. Guerrilla Games definitely delivered and have been taking care of things for Horizon Zero Dawn since launch and of course are bringing us all the new DLC for the game here shortly. They are also keeping up with fixing issues found in the game and patching any holes we all kind find out there. That and bringing us all new things for the game in the case of the latest patch to just drop.
It’s not every day we can get excited for a patch, but seeing as this one gives us all more reasons to go back and replay Horizon Zero Dawn, or finish then replay depending on where you are with the game, then it is fully justified. If you haven’t guessed by now or downloaded the patch already, then it is time for you to know that we are getting a New Game+ added in here as well as a new Ultra Hard mode that we can set the game to. For those gamers out there who want a true challenge with all of their gear and abilities to carry right over. Or for those Trophy Hunters out there who want to be able to pick up two more for replaying on the new difficulty and with New Game+. Even more reasons to jump back into Horizon Zero Dawn now.
But wait, there’s more…
In addition to this and fixing a few minor bugs in Horizon Zero Dawn, it looks like we are getting updates to some of the gear in the game which will add an extra modification slot to the selected items. Also, we are getting the ability to add face paint to Aloy’s face as well as change up here Focus in different visual ways. I guess Guerrilla Games really wants us to use the Photo Mode to capture truly unique shots in Horizon Zero Dawn at the end of the day. At least that is how I am seeing it as we wait for The Frozen Wilds to finally get a release out there. For now, we can just take these awesome patches and updates and be happy gamers.

As of today, you can download patch 1.30 which includes additional fixes to progression issues which some of you may have encountered. However, it also includes the highly anticipated New Game+ option.
With New Game+ you will be able to relive the adventures of Aloy without losing your character progression and your collected inventory. You won’t be able to progress beyond the level cap of 50, but you can still collect XP during your adventure.
We have also added updated versions of existing weapons and outfits with an extra modification slot at your disposal. These will not come cheap and will set you back some extra shards.
Before embarking on a new quest you can manually adjust the difficulty level to your liking. For players who seek an extra challenge, we are also introducing an ‘Ultra Hard’ difficulty. This new setting will enhance machine senses and behavior and will limit player health regen and other additional smaller tweaks. Players who decide to embark on the Ultra Hard path will not have the option to switch it to a less difficult setting.
New Game+ also comes with two new Trophies and extra unlockable content that gives players the ability to add face paint or change Aloy’s Focus.
Have you beaten Horizon Zero Dawn yet and will be able to take full advantage of these new modes here or are you still slowing enjoying the game? Does the addition of the New Game+ and Ultra Hard mode make you want to replay the game again or will it just be a great thing for new fans or for when The Frozen Wilds releases? Will you be taking more in-game photos now that we have more options to customize Aloy as we wish? Let us and the world know your thoughts in the comments and then feel free to keep the discussion going. As we get more in on Horizon Zero Dawn, we will bring it to you. Be sure to keep checking in here to stay up to date on all of it.
