It looks like Evil Genius 2 has finally been announced recently as the development for Evil Genius 2 has only just begun again
Since yesterday, the 4th, was all about the random explosions and setting things on fire in the U.S., you might have missed a few things in the mix out there like Evil Genius 2 getting an announcement and having already been in development for a few months now. Maybe this was the evil plan of Rebellion the whole time as a slap back to the U.S. for the whole reason the 4th of July is being celebrated and they wanted to leave that section of gamers out for a little bit. Who know and who cares as Evil Genius 2 is now officially coming and in the works for whenever they get it all put together and done.
Seeing as this was a very small part of the following “State Of Rebellion” video that was posted, don’t expect there to be much for Evil Genius 2 here or anywhere just yet. Hells, the game only went into production a few months ago and the team is still nailing down the platforms they are going to bring it to. Obviously the PC is a shoe-in here, but there is also looks at consoles and other platforms if the team can do it and do it all correctly. Kind of how video games should always be approached, but this is how it is now. Just be glad and get ready to wait for this sequel now.
Evil Genius 2 — Announcement
Ever since Evil Genius came under the Rebellion roof, we’ve always believed that Elixir’s beloved real-time, lair-management and world-domination simulation deserved a follow-up. We’d like to make this super-duper clear – this isn’t a remaster. Evil Genius 2 will be a fully-fledged sequel and it won’t be free-to-play. Our focus currently is on a PC release, but as ever we’ll look at other platforms and see what fits and what doesn’t.
Now, before you get too excited and start furiously drawing up your blueprints for a Gravity Disruptor 2.0, development only began this Spring and is still at a very, very early stage. We’re currently fleshing out the tech that will make Evil Genius 2 a reality. This will be the first real-time strategy game built in our in-house engine Asura, after all, so we need to do a little bit of extra work under the hood before we expand the team, nail down gameplay design and go into full production.
What do you think about Evil Genius 2 getting the full announcement here and now? Has it been too long since the last title that you even care or are you a hardcore fan and have just lost your mind over the new announcement here? What do you hope will be back, completely removed, or just fixed in this sequel or do you truly hope it is all new with just name and theme tying it all together? Let us know down in the comments and as always, feel free to discuss. When more for Evil Genius 2 is revealed and announced, we’ll have it here. Keep your eyes glued here so you can see it all as it happens.
