Run For Your Life In The 100 Aker Woods With Winnie-The-Pooh: Black Honey

Winnie-The-Pooh: Black Honey — Announcement

Winnie-The-Pooh is coming back into the horror genre, again, with the recently announced Winnie-The-Pooh: Black Honey

We are never going to be safe, it seems, from all of the quick runs at IPs that have hit the public domain, as now we have the announcement for Winnie-The-Pooh: Black Honey. A new title on the way to the PC from J6 Games that will be bringing the character, his friends, and the world to life once again, and in a horror setting. Yes, this is another of the many Winnie-The-Pooh is a horrible monster type of things. This time, with the love of honey coming to kill us if we do not use it all to our advantage. Although this version of it all could come with a happy ending for those who are looking to put the extra time into it all. Another twist to the twists we have been getting ever since the character hit the public domain status…

So, as it looks like the story is going, Winnie-The-Pooh has gone mad with hunger and is out to eat us. We are then presented with the choice of smashing him down and stopping that rampage or collecting enough of the Black Honey to restore him to his old ways. That will have us exploring the 100 Aker Woods to find more of this honey or playing other mini games out there to have more dropped into our lap. The extra twist here is that to upgrade our character for better survival, we will have to spend that Black Honey instead of giving it to Winnie-The-Pooh. A tough choice, and all wrapped in a very low-end visual style that makes the game feel like it has one of those “found video game” feels to it all. This is a small team, so it could be a solid use of resources if that was the intended goal and not just another title to push out in the craze of the public domain hype train.

Winnie is hungry, and you need to snap him out of his frenzy or end him permanently.

  • Smash Him — End Winnie permanently with falling pianos, endless pits, and fake walls.
  • Cure Him — Or you can collect honey throughout the world to restore him to his old self.
  • Upgrade & Craft — Explore the open-world 100 Aker Woods to directly find or complete quests for black honey, which can then be used to craft new items or directly upgrade your character.

Do you think that there will be more to Winnie-The-Pooh: Black Honey than what we see on the surface, or will it be another bit of shovelware using the IP to gather hype? How hard will it be to collect all of this Black Honey out there, and will we truly need to waste any of it on upgrades in the game? Why is it only Pooh who looks to be altered in the mix, and will we slowly see the other characters transformed along the way, too? Rush on down to the comment section to discuss all of that and anything else that comes to mind out there. If we have more for Winnie-The-Pooh: Black Honey, we will certainly drop it all here for you.
