Fresh, new gameplay for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is out here from Gamescom, and showing how we will team up in Toxic Commando
Get ready to face off with some massive enemies out there with some new gameplay for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando. Not to be mistaken with the other titles on the way with “Toxic” in the name, but this one is the title that Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment is working on. Now, fresh out of Gamescom 2025, we have some new gameplay to look at to see how these Toxic Commando fighters will be teaming up to face off against all of the massive things we just mentioned. As long as you are still looking to get some of that ’80s horror in your 2026 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. I guess it is good that we finally have some gameplay to dig into here.
The basics of Toxic Commando make it look like it is a basic first-person shooter title. This one will have us playing in squads of up to four players in co-op and with some crossplay going on. All so we can head into the mix and harness all that we can to try and fix the issues that the Earth is going through. Given that it looks like something has tried to harness things it should not, we now have waves of the undead and other monsters roaming about. This is why we need to call in the Toxic Commando squad to help them end with all their living. Along with their massive guns, they will have some extra special abilities and katanas to use for it all. Have a gander at the gameplay that came out to better sell us on it all until the full release finally makes it to us.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando — Gameplay
Whether behind the wheel or on foot, players will face massive enemy hordes and daunting bosses, all powered by Saber’s Swarm Engine, the technology behind World War Z: Aftermath and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Fully supporting cross-platform co-op, the game will give adrenaline hunters and ’80s horror fans alike tons of fear and excitement when it arrives in early 2026!
Not Just Another Mercenary Team
In the near future, an experimental attempt to harness the power of the Earth’s core ends in a terrifying disaster, turning soil to scum and the living to undead monsters. However, the genius behind the experiment has a plan to make things right: a team of highly trained mercenaries to get the job done. Unfortunately, they were all too expensive. That’s why he hired The Toxic Commandos.
Strap in for Crossplay-Ready Co-op Carnage

Pick your character, choose the class that matches your playstyle, pile into your favorite ride, and unload an array of gunfire, grenades, special abilities, and freaking katanas.
