Rush into the brutal gunplay of Better Than Dead, with a new bodycam shooter that Better Than Dead will be giving us all
The run of bodycam games keeps on flowing, as we get to see Better Than Dead making its way on out there now. Unlike the others, though, this one looks as if it is moving down a different genre than we have seen in the others before now. Something that I am sure MicroProse will be amped to show off with Better Than Dead leaning more to the FPS and action side of things instead of the usual horror bits we have had before now. As long as you are truly in the market to get a new bodycam title on the PC. Maybe this will be the one that sells you further, so let us have a look at just what the game might offer beyond the basics we can assume.
Even though Better Than Dead might not be a horror title specifically, it does need to be mentioned that it digs into some dark and horrific things. Like the fact that we will be playing as someone who seems to have escaped being sex trafficked and is out for revenge. Revenge in the mix of a photorealistic Hong Kong, even if some of the characters we are gunning down do not seem to be as realistic as the world. I guess that is a good thing with our protagonist coming back to take some revenge, record it all as it goes, and save other victims along the way. All with a “one stream” kind of setup to Better Than Dead so it all feels like one long shot. Thankfully, the following video we have leans more on the action side of it all, so those who might be sensitive to the other kind of content can see what is going on. Given that this is all done by one developer, it is impressive, and I hope that they get some extra help to make the enemies look a little more realistic as they get what they deserve out there.
Better Than Dead — Announcement
A brutal FPS. One girl. One gun. One recording.
They broke into her life.
They filmed her. They destroyed her.
Now she’s back — and she’s filming them.
Better Than Dead is a brutal first-person shooter set in the depths of photorealistic Hong Kong.
You play as a survivor who’s done running. She’s got a pistol, a bodycam, and a kill list.
Every level is a raid. Every fight is personal.
Saving the other girls isn’t enough — you have to find the ones who broke you and show the world as you take them down.
Do you like the look of Better Than Dead, and do you think that with more development time, the rest of the game will hit the realistic level? Is this going to be a much darker story than any of the horror titles out there can hit, or will that level of realism be too dark for so many? How will the game handle the one-shot feel of it all, and will there be story scenes that play out so we are able to have a slight break in the mix? Fire off all of those thoughts down in the comments, and then discuss them all as much as you are willing to do. Better Than Dead has caught my eye with what it is trying to do, so I will be trying to keep tabs on its progression. Join in on that bit of fun by following the site and our social accounts so you do not miss a single thing. As long as this kind of game is not too off-putting for you in the long run.
