Amon is forged in Fire & Ice in the Borderlands, as we get a deeper look at the next Vault Hunter coming in Borderlands 4
Things are getting a bit bulkier out there in the world of Borderlands 4, as we have the next Vault Hunter on display to get us all ready for September 12th when the game launches onto the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. With Switch 2 to still follow on October 3rd, if you needed that reminder. Maybe you do if you were waiting for the Tank character that Gearbox is giving us in the game, and now you will have a reason to figure out how to pay for the game out there. Amon is that character, as he is the tank in this title, as well as the largest character that we have to play in all of the Borderlands titles. It is a good thing this Viking-type character is on our side for once, and now we get to see how we will benefit from all of that.
On top of being the biggest character that we have seen in a Borderlands title, Amon is bringing a bit more to lean into the whole Viking side of things out there. Like the fact that he will have a shield that will absorb a bunch of energy to be used, and that can be thrown around the map, as we have seen before. Along with all of the guns, Amon will have two different melee weapons that can float around him or be combined into one massive one that can also be thrown. All to deal out some fire and ice damage to the enemies that it hits. These can also be shifted about through various upgrades and skills in Borderlands 4, of course. All to make sure that Amon plays just as the close-quarters fighter that you might want in the mix. Even if it does feel as if this will step on the toes of some of the other characters who can do the same. He is the Tank character, though, so I do have a feeling that he will be better suited for all of that carnage in the end.
Borderlands 4 — Character Short: Amon
Amon was raised in a Vault monster-worshipping cult—until the Vault was opened and the creature turned on everyone he loved. As the only survivor, he dedicates his life to finding and killing as many of these beasts as he can. He is a warrior-poet—introspective and unflinching to his duty—but despite his hardened appearance, he has a warm attitude, often regaling comrades in arms with stories and advice earned throughout his travels.

Borderlands 4 — Abilities Breakdown: Amon
Are you glad to see Amon taking up the role out there in the Borderlands, or were you hoping for a different subversion of the character instead? Will the cult-like background play into the bigger story, or was that all just a way to help introduce the character to us all? Why are we getting so many characters that are melee-focused in the title, and will the final one be truly different than what we have seen before? Fire off all of those thoughts in the comment section to discuss it all and everything else that we have to share out there. So much more is still in the works for Borderlands 4, so please keep on checking back here for all of those updates and the many others still in the works. We have just under a month until the game launches, so you will not want to miss out on a single bit of news for it.
