Get ready to head into The Friendly Neighborhood again, with the console release date for My Friendly Neighborhood
It has taken a good bit of time, but here we go with the console release date for My Friendly Neighborhood. It has been two years since DreadXP gave us this different take on the Mascot Horror genre of video games on the PC. A long time, indeed, but that is all coming to an end for it being the only platform to play on. The PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S will soon see the horrors of My Friendly Neighborhood on July 17th. Yes, by the end of the week, you too will be able to head into the building and face off with all of the angry and animated puppets trying to help us all end with our living. Mark it down, and let us see what else will be on the way with this release.
If you missed out on all of the fun of My Friendly Neighborhood from before, the console version is going to have all of the updates and changes that came with the PC version of things since it walked the Early Access days and through the full release. That means all of the weird puppets, voice acting, and other horrors that our Handyman is going to encounter in the world as we set out to shut the station down. All in way we choose with the non-linear gameplay requirements in the mix of things. Then, once we are done, we can dig into the new feature of Neighborhorde Mode in My Friendly Neighborhood, as we just need to defend ourselves from the onslaught of puppets and characters who will just be coming at us in so many waves. It was a great adventure the first time around, and I am sure that the consoles will offer up the same, if not more, fun to be had.
My Friendly Neighborhood — Console Release Date
In celebration of the two-year anniversary of the Steam release of My Friendly Neighborhood, developer siblings John and Evan Szymanski and indie horror publisher DreadXP are pleased to announce that the comedic survival horror will be coming to consoles in just two days, on July 17. This port expands the availability of the acclaimed adventure to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and will be available on Game Pass for Xbox and Windows.
It was just another night for Handyman Gordon… until it wasn’t. Called into the studio behind the once-beloved puppet show, The Friendly Neighborhood, after the defunct children’s show began mysteriously airing on televisions across the globe once more, Gordon finds that the puppets have come to life and they’re not so friendly after all. Step into Gordon’s work boots and use a variety of letter-based weapons to fend off perilous puppets, solve perplexing puzzles, organize an intricate inventory, and get to the bottom of the return of this once-family-friendly-turned-terrible television transmission.
Features:
- A colorful cast of puppet friends turned adversaries (and maybe turned friends again!).
- Non-linear, survival horror gameplay. Make sure to check your map!
- Unique weapons like the Rolodexer. Do you know your ABCs? You better – it’s your ammo.
- An array of puzzles in the vein of the survival horror greats.
- A multitude of diverse environments, from the “BTS” Ray’s Workshop to cardboard crayon halls.
- A grid-based real-time inventory, ’cause that’s just way better.
- Now Featuring: Post-game Neighborhorde mode!
Are you curious why it took so long for My Friendly Neighborhood to come to the consoles, or was it a little premature to announce the console versions so long ago? Do you think that there will be other changes in the mix of things, or will it be the base game and just designed to work better with the controllers? Could this all lead to a new title in the IP, and more updates down the line for us all to enjoy? Rush on down to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else that might be on your mind. There will be more for My Friendly Neighborhood after the game hits the consoles, so please keep on checking in here for all of those updates and the many others still to flow on out there. We do enjoy bringing all of this to you as best as we can, and we fully appreciate you coming along for the ride.
